Here's Something WEIRD!

My DVD/VHS Player plays PAL Disk, but only those in region one.

Having bought all five segments of the 1966 Marvel Superheroes (That's Captain America, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man, The Submariner and Mighty Thor for those of you in Rio Linda! ) from The Big River across the Big Pond (That's Amazon UK for those....oh never mind! ) I purchased a region-free DVD Player to play these disks on.

I'll be ordering other sets and movies that aren't available across the fruited plain, including the entire Babew... (I mean Baywatch) and Spencer's Pilots among others.

Those animated Marvel shows had some great theme songs, like "When Captain America throws his mighty shield..." and for Sub-Mariner "Stronger than a whale, he can swim anywhere..."

The last thing I bought was a bottle of red wine to take over to my brother's house -- for Sunday dinner.

I bought "Boots" of the 1966 Superheroes series a few years ago, but the quality was not the best, so I'm pleased to get an official set, even though I had to get it in a rather unorthodox manner. Normally I'd destroy the boots after getting the legits, but in this case whoever sold them had some interesting artwork on them, so I'm sparing them and converting them into Christmas Ornaments.

A rather unusual purchase from Amazon: the last-ever edition (Saturday, March 4, 1978) of the original 102-year run of an afternoon Chicago paper called the Chicago Daily News

I found this wooden plaque at someone's yard sale and had to pick it up.

I showed it to the guy to purchase it and we're both laughing hysterically.

Visited my husband's cousin over the weekend & used her store discount card to buy some books from Barnes & Noble in Bowling Green. We don't have a Barnes & Noble in our town.

I recently signed up for a 3 Month subscription to Loot Crate. I have friends who rave about it, so I wanted to sample it.
