Thanks Sonny. I was wondering about the ratings.

The link isn't working for me. Here's what it said when I clicked on it:

I like HIC. It's so refreshing to see a sitcom with a laugh track on these days. It brings back the 80's. TV Land needs to bring back more sitcoms and lose the reality crap.

Yes, I need to "second that" about the reality shows! How many more shows about models can they have? There are so many of them, I don't even know one from the other, and what do these shows have to do with the TVLand genre?
Hot in Cleveland, a sitcom with Betty White and 3 other known names from former sit-coms, what a great concept. And it sounds like they plan for more shows like this.

I wasn't going to watch because the show was being compared to Sex and The City (I loathe that show). I watched and thought is was good enough to add to the DVR. It's really a decent show and I didn't feel like I wanted my 30 minutes back.

Thumbs up

I'm watching the S2 set now!!! It's a very funny show with a great cast and terrific guest stars to begin with - but to be set in my hometown of Cleveland with all the local references and such?? PERFECT!!!!

I know what you mean. I just finished S#2. Not a big fan of most of the current crap on TV so I don't bother with cable. But when I heard Valerie and Betty were going to be in the show I knew it'd be something special. So I bought the first two seasons on DVD (and I was right!).

P.S. I'll have to work in some references to Cleveland in my next set of Title Rejects.

Just curious, Monika... You and I are kind of in teh same "situation" if you will... Myself with Frasier and all of the Seattle references and you with HIC and hte Cleveland stuff. Are the Cleveland ones accurate? B/C the Seattle ones in Frasire are pretty accurate, but it's even funnier when they're not. There's an episode of Frasier where Martin tries to get either Daphne or Frasier to drive him to "Rattlesnake Ridge" and Niles says something about it being five hours away. Trust me, it's MUCH closer than that. My husband and I went there several years ago and he went hiking with some friends of his. It's only about 2 (and that's in really bad traffic). it's on the east side of Seattle.

But it does impress me about how many things the writers of Frasier got "right". So since some of them are also doing HIC, I wondered if they got the Cleveland stuff right too?

I would say it is, though "Stormi's" doesn't really sound like a name a Clevelander would choose for a sports bar. I just wish they'd do more references, like The Drew Carey Show did. A lot of the street names are accurate, and the Cleveland sports memorabilia you see Elka wear is current. Case in point: the Grady's Ladies hoodie Elka wears is for sale on Cafe Press:

Oh, I forgot to add that there is really no Channel 7 here in Cleveland. We have Channel 3 (NBC), Channel 5 (ABC), Channel 8 (FOX), and Channel 19 (CBS). So the station Victoria works at is completely ficticious.
