It is the same sets that were released before. They just changed the packaging so they could release them all together as one.

I also have the complete series recorded on TV with the original music still there. I am glad I did not throw that out since most of the music was replaced on the DVD set.

Studios are notorious for shafting the consumers with re-packing and offering bonus material for complete series box-sets.

MASH was a prime example of that. They initially released two seasons per year over a period of about 6 years - no extras at all. Then they announced the complete series box-set with extras (some of the MASH TV reunion and specials, etc..) This really ticked-off all the fans who'd been buying the seasons one by one. Fox received so much negative feedback that they ended up releasing the extras as a separate DVD.

It was the same with MacGyver (1985-92 ABC adventure series w/Richard Dean Anderson): all seven seasons' worth came out individually, then the full series came out at once (in a poorly-packaged version that contained the 1994 movies; this was the only way those movies could be seen). The hue and cry was so loud on that such that Paramount eventually capitulated and released the movies separately, and now there is a better-packaged full-series release (called the "Complete Collection" as opposed to "Complete Series") that has the whole series and the movies all in one.
