Showtime Cancels "United States of Tara"
Showtime Cancels "United States of Tara"
by Chris Harnick posted May 23rd 2011 "United States of Tara" is coming to an end. Showtime has canceled the Toni Collette comedy. According to Variety, the third season, which is currently airing, will be the last. "Tara" follows Collette as a suburban mom and wife who struggles with her multiple personalities. The show, which is executive produced by Steven Spielberg and Diablo Cody, got Collette an Emmy. However, the series has been shedding viewers since its premiere. Variety reports the series has been averaging 326,000 viewers after its original Monday broadcast and 1.9 million viewers when repeats, DVR playback and on-demand service is counted. It's a decent number for a cable show, but it's 30 percent lower than the show did last season. http://www.tvsquad.com/2011/05/23/sh...-nurse-jackie/ |

This is so ****ed up. I can't even explain how pissed off I am. It's one of the most original shows to come along in YEARS. It has an excellent cast, and amazing writing. Toni Collette is without equal as Tara. I really hope that another network will pick it up. There are SO many more stories to be told. I cannot believe that there are only four more episodes left. That's what I get for supporting a stupid ass cable network. This is sickening.

At least "United States of Tara" was willing to try things new, says Alan Sepinwall. "Nurse Jackie," he says, just keeps running in place season after season, just like "Dexter." |

Well, I disagree with that article because I'm a huge fan of both shows. I wouldn't prefer one to be canceled/saved over the other. |

I know a few people that are going to be upset, that sucks. They always seem to cancel the good ones. They do it to me every year, this time I didn't get into this one.
