Default How unusual is President Trump's hiring of TV personalities to join his administratio

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/03/16/b...elevision.html

Presidents have sought and hired television personalities in the past. But the president's recent moves, says Michael M. Grynbaum, "are another sign that the dividing line between media and government has been all but erased under Mr. Trump, a former reality star who views himself as the casting agent in chief. Television figures have served as press aides in past administrations, tasked with handling their former colleagues in the media. But the selection of (CNBC's Larry) Kudlow crossed a threshold of sorts: the elevation of a television star to a position of real influence over policies affecting millions of Americans. It was perhaps inevitable that Mr. Trump, whose view of the world is indelibly shaped by what he sees on TV, would be a president eager to break the fourth wall."

Obama just signed with Netflix to be a reality tv star. As for Trump, I don't care where his people come from, as long as they produce for the country. Looking at our economy, regulations, taxes and immigration, Trumps people are doing great! We suffered for 8 years with "qualified" people who produced nothing but more debt, regulations and misery.

Perhaps but Obama did hire people with experience and education for the jobs, like people with doctorates. Trump is hiring people with no experience, with middling college grades. For example, Rick Perry for Department of Energy though he got a D in chemistry, and Betsy DeVos who never worked in education. Obama is out of office now and he can do what he wants, so can George W, Jimmy Carter, etc.

If Obama was so "smart" and hired all of these so-called, "smart people", then why did we suffer through 8 years of nada? All he had was Obamacare and that sucked. The only thing Obama and company was good at was feathering their nests.

Actually thanks to Obamacare, I know several people who got medicaid who normally wouldn't qualify so what's wrong with that? I know many got screwed but I am glad those who needed help got it. If you want to talk about suffering how about W? People suffer all through all administrations.

I too suffered under "W", he was not good with the economy. But you confuse medicaid with Obamacare. I am all for medicaid expansion to the right people. But Obamacare only funded it for a short time, then put the extra expanse on the states. That sucked. As did most of Obamacare.
