I didn't know this, but the set from The Golden Girls was a recycled set from a previous Susan Harris series from 1982 called "It Takes Two". It's kinda eerie seeing a different family (Patty Duke and Helen Hunt) living in the GG's home.

Wow! Great find.
![]() Anthony Edwards is barely recognizable with all that hair! ![]() ![]() I always liked Patty Duke and Richard Crenna. And I really didn't remember Helen Hunt being on another sit-com before she did "Mad About You". Did you notice they had a white refrigerator in the kitchen back then? ![]() |

That's probably the best look we ever get into that room off the kitchen, which I always figured was the pantry between the kitchen and the hallway to the bedrooms. Of course, it also was used as a back door even though architecturally, that made no sense!

“It Takes Two” was a fun show - with a great cast - that should have lasted longer. Typical Witt/Thomas/Harris production - lots of good ones liners, but not afraid to tackle more serious issues. Shortly after it ended its brief run, it was offered in syndication as a “checkerboard” with some other short lived Witt/Thomas productions, such as “It’s a Living” and “I’m a Big Girl Now”. This enabled “It’s a Living” to return with new episodes.

Did this show take place in an upstairs apartment? It's really weird seeing the city out of the kitchen window instead of the palm trees, but cool. I immediately thought of Dorothy and Sophia taking all night to wash glasses when I saw Patty at the sink.

Yes - it took place in a Chicago high rise apartment building.
