Does the 2006 Movie Get too Much of a Bad Rap?

1. The people who were expecting an action flick in the sense of Bad Boys. I do like the Bad Boys movies, but I wasn't really expecting it to be remotely similar.
2. The people who wanted it to be set in the 80s. It didn't matter the time setting. The A-Team was set in modern times and the movie was good.
However, I did want to see a gritty cop drama with a touch of action or suspense, but when you compare the TV show to the movie, it doesn't seem right. For starters, Colin Farrell didn't seem like Crockett to me, nor did Jamie Foxx as Tubbs. Plus, you had Tubbs with Trudy, when the two weren't together in the series, and don't even get me started on that cringeworthy sex scene. I have a feeling that they wanted something to replace the Gina/Sonny deal early on in the series, but I didn't find Trudy/Rico to be believable whatsoever. Let's not forget that Gina, Zito, and Switek didn't play that big of roles in the movie, despite being prominent characters in the series. I can say the same thing about Castillo, who was also seen as an afterthought in the movie.
