Default The films of Hayao Miyazaki

Are there any other fans of Hayao Miyazaki around here?

His animated films have a depth and charm that is unlike any other films I've seen. The beautiful artwork and music makes watching his movies a truly unique experience that I never tire of.

So far, I've only seen My Neighbor Totoro and Spirited Away, but I thought both were great!

My mom and I like My Neighbor Totoro as well and it's one of the cutest Hayao Miyazaki films ever made. But my very favorite Hayao Miyazaki film is Kiki's Delivery Service because it teaches you good lessons and Kiki's a wonderful role model for young girls. I also have Ponyo and Howl's Moving Castle and The Secret World Of Arietty in my Hayao Miyazaki movie collection as well and Howl's Moving Castle is another one of my favorite movies too because of the awesome story and Howl is such a cutie as well. It's really a shame that Hayao Miyazaki is no longer making movies because he retired cause every time you see one of his movies there's something magical in each storyline

That's great! Totoro and Spirited Away are two of my favorites for sure. I would definitely recommend Castle in the Sky and Howl's Moving Castle as well if you ever get the chance. Castle in the Sky narrowly beats Spirited Away as my favorite Miyazaki film.

I agree. I love the magic and wonder in his stories and it will be a real loss to the film world if he never makes any more.
But at least we'll always have his entire inventory to watch over and over again!

I certainly know what you mean; when someone makes amazing art, it's only natural to wish they'd make more! Thanks for suggesting Kiki's Delivery Service and Howl's Moving Castle!

Thanks! I will be on the lookout for both of them! That's two votes for Howl!

Hayao Miyazaki came out of retirement and has begun work on his final film, "How Do You Live?", due out in 2020 or 2021. It'll be very interesting to see how this turns out.
