Default The Cosby Show - Season 8 DVD Review

The Cosby Show is back one last time on DVD from First Look Studios this time with Seasons 7 and 8...each sold separately as The Huxtables say goodbye. This review is for the final season, season eight. Join OBGYN Dr. Cliff Huxtable, his wife Clair Huxtable the lawyer and the rest of his family for some great laughs, fun, and a just a good time in 24 hilarious episodes. The sitcom held TVs #1 slot for a record five consecutive seasons and stayed in the top 20 for all eight seasons on NBC.

Season eight stars Dr. Bill Cosby as Dr. Heathcliff Huxtable, Phylicia Rashad as Clair Huxtable, Sabrina Le Beauf as Sondra Huxtable, Geoffrey Owens as Elvin Tibideaux, Malcolm-Jamal Warner as Theo Huxtable, Tempest Bledsoe as Vanessa Huxtable, Keshia Knight Pulliam as Rudy Huxtable, Erika Alexander as Pam and Raven Symone as Olivia.

I bought this and its a good season, better than season 7 which has too many Pam centered plots and not enough of Vanessa. The best eps are the ones where Olivia isn't featured- A Lit Candle Will Cause a Meltdown, Some Gifts aren't Deductible, The Two of Us and Theo's Future. Although I've seen each of those many times in syndication, they are better than the others (although none of the eps are weak). It is good to see what was edited out in syndication in these eps. Denise and Martin had become irrelevant in season 7, so they're really not missed in year 8.

I missed them in season eight. There seemed to be something missing during this season of the show. I was missing them. Martin got to be in one episode of the last season.
