I know I posted an image of it here, but the 1965 AIP teenexploitation flick "Ski Party" was supposed to have a sequel called "Cruise Party" that was never made.

On the other hand, there was something similar made in 1967 called "The Catalina Caper," and the cast and crew of MST3K blasted that one.

" in the mid 1990's Simon Wells had co-wrote a screenplay for Casper 2 a sequel to the 1995 film the sequel was cancelled by Amblin Entertainment because they did not believe there would be enough interest from moviegoers. Wells also credited the uncertainty of actress Christina Ricci returning & Fox's ill-received direct-to-video Casper films as contributing to the canellation of Casper 2 "

good news back in 2010 news come out that they were trying to get another casper film off the ground in hollywood but it would have a much darker tone

After the success of Se7en, studio execs wanted a sequel. David Fincher then worked on an Ei8ht script and it spent a lot time in the pre-production phase, but Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman wanted no part of it.

The script was eventually retooled and turned into the upcoming movie Solace, starring Anthony Hopkins and Colin Farrell, about a psychic who works with the FBI to track down a serial killer.

After the success of My Cousin Vinny, screenwriter/producer Dale Launer wrote a sequel but Marissa Tomei wasn't interested in coming back. Too much time eventually passed after Vinny came out and it never happened.

The sequel was going to be about Vinny, now a high profile defense attorney, hired for the case of an ex-football star charged with murdering his wife and her alleged lover. Vinny has to navigate his way through the L.A. law enforcement and corruption and decide whether or not he really believes his client or not.

back in 1971 Twentieth Century Fox was going to make a sequel to the movie MASH to be based on the sequel to the book MASH GOES TO BOSTON (which was about a reunion of the 4077th in Boston) anyway they decided to make a TV series instead (I forget why)

and in 1987 they were thinking about doing a sequel to the 1967 movie THE GRADUATE.

It's funny they were considering a sequel.

Not all movies need or require a sequel. I think a movie like My Cousin Vinny was great, but it told its story. I liked it, but never thought they should do another.

Sometimes it's a good thing these proposed sequels never made it past the first stage of development

I don't know, it would have been cool if they had a Vinny In Space.

they were planning a sequel to NATIONAL LAMPOONS ANIMAL HOUSE that would have been set at Haight-Ashbury. I forget why they never did it though. I think it was because of John Belushis death.

Paul McCartney supposedly considered the idea of the Beatles making a sequel to Magical Mystery Tour - about the Beatles at an Edwardian picnic, as author Nicholas Schaffner described it - but after the failure of the original film on British TV, the Beatles shelved the idea and went to study meditation in India instead.

They were planning an Animal House sequel. It also would have starred Dan Aykroyd. A Blues Brothers sequel was also being planned.

Both were cancelled when Belushi died because they were being developed for him.

Beetlejuice Goes Hawaiian. Director Kevin Smith was offered the chance to write a sequel to Beetlejuice, to be set in Hawaii, but he said, "Didn’t we say everything we needed to with the first Beetlejuice?"

Tim Burton, who made the original movie, actually pitched the idea because he thought it would be so ridiculous they’d turn him down and he could go onto other things. Instead they loved it, and put it into development. It never got further than that.

I'm glad they shelved that idea! Sounds really lame

I have to admit that Magic Mystery Tour was pretty bad. But the songs were great!

"The Fool On the Hill" and "I Am The Walrus" are great, "the title song and "Your Mother Should Know" are pleasant throwaways," and "Flying" and "Blue Jay Way" are in between.

Cabin Fever: Outbreak - This was supposed to have been shot back-to-back with Cabin Fever: Patient Zero. It was going to be co-written by Adam Marcus who wrote Jason Goes To Hell, and Texas Chainsaw 3D...hmm, now that I think about it maybe it's a good thing it didn't get made.
