Default Dinner with the Bird

On various occasions, I have posted comments dealing with the fact that this show's Lea Thompson was born in 1961. This was also the year that Kari Michaelsen and Julia Louis-Dreyfus were born. I find it amazing that three beautiful little ladies were all born the same year! In any event, a while back, want of something better to do caused me to look up "Woody Woodpecker" on the Internet. I learned a lot of interesting facts about the history of the cartoon. To start with, it made its debut in 1940. As the years went on, his character became much more refined in both appearance and mannerisms. Political correctness really took its toll on this little bird. Well, I then went over to You Tube and found a cartoon that was made in 1961. It was called "The Bird Who Came to Dinner". Even though I did not remember the title, I remembered the story line of the cartoon. Getting reacquainted with it really brought back memories! Because Kari Michaelsen who played Katie from "Gimme a Break!" was born in 1961, I posted a thread on that page and called it "The Bird Who Came to Dinner". At this stage in the game, it has a bunch of views but zero replies. I have since gone back to You Tube and watched another "Woody Woodpecker" cartoon. This one was made in 1941. I was really able to see the difference in appearance and story line from the one that was made twenty years later. In an attempt to stimulate some conversation on the "Gimme a Break!" page, I posted another thread there and called it "Twenty Years Earlier". Still no replies! That board is almost as slow as this one! In any event, telling you guys all of this is simply an attempt to stimulate some conversation about this fine series. Let us see what happens!
