Unsolved Mysteries isn't exclusive to Amazon, though. We're supposed to get it on a variety of platforms, which I hope means Netflix. Paying for a Prime membership defeats the purpose of free shipping, IMO.

Free Two Day Shipping, not just free standard shipping. It certainly is worth it to me knowing that anything I order from that site will be at my doorstep anytime between 36-48 hours after I order it at no additional cost. I just logged into my account and it said that I had placed 54 orders in 2016. So, roughly once a week. Two Day Shipping usually costs 7-10 bucks if you don't have Prime. Let's meet in the middle and say $8.50 each. That's $459 worth of shipping costs that I didn't have to spend to get my stuff three times faster than a non-Prime member gets them. $359 in savings if you factor in the $100 membership. That's just on shipping costs alone. They also have an Amazon Music app that is awesome and has more stuff on it than any other music platform including iTunes and you can stream the entire library for free. Also, Amazon Instant Video (which is the topic of discussion here) which isn't as extensive as Netflix but it's a pretty killer bonus for free. Plus, it's going to have the entire Stack era UM library in HD. That alone is worth the $8 a month that the membership costs IMO. I can't wrap my head around people complaining about Amazon Prime.

I'm with you. Christmas shopping alone I got my value on shipping for having a prime membership and I got everything in time most things on prime shipping(2days). The prices on amazon are also on point. I've never had any problems. I recently ordered two beds and had them delivered to my house. Saved a lot of time as well.

I refuse to pay a shipping fee if free shipping is available. As long as my order is over $35, it ships for free. I've been using Amazon since 2004 and I've never paid for shipping. I'm not going to start now.

I'm much more content to spend $9.99 a month on Netflix, which is also going to get Unsolved at some point.

That's what I keep saying and people are still bitching. I am starting to think they'd rather not have the stream available they just like to complain that it's not available.

I totally see your point. However, for those of us who often place an order for just one item (I'm a total spur-of-the-moment shopper, so I do this frequently) the prime membership is absolutely worth it in shipping savings alone. Plus you get it in 2 days as opposed to the 4-5 it normally takes.

In any case, pros/cons of Amazon aside, we're getting our show on a streaming platform! I'll be honest: I don't care which one! 2017 is already way better than the steaming pile I'll forever remember as 2016...

You don't want to pay $99 a year for Prime which includes streaming, music, and free 2 day shipping with no buying thresholds but you will pay $120 plus a year just for streaming? Sounds like you're cutting off your nose to spite your face.

You can't compare the two. I don't agree with paying for shipping. I've gotten free shipping my entire experience with Amazon and I'm not suddenly going to start paying for something I'm used to getting for free.

This will be of no use to me because I refuse to stream especially if I have to pay for a membership. I don't order much online so free shipping and Prime is useless to me. Sorry, that's just me.

With me it's either VHS, DVD, or Blu-ray or nothing.

You do realize your stubbornness and ignorance of streaming will cost you alot more in the long run.

$99 dollars for Amazon just to watch Unsolved Mysteries entire catalog (when available)

Will trump the 3 DVD or blu rays and the measly 6-9 hours of footage that you will also receive at the local store for a value of $99.

Ths logic is hard for me to accept and I just will not accept it.

I'm sorry, it's called being ignorant.

^I want a physical copy. And, I don't like memberships.

I'm a DVD collector, so of course I would want a physical copy. Oh yeah, and the fact that I don't even have a computer or internet at my home would also interfere with this.

Again, excuses. All you need is a smart phone. And an HDmi cable to connect to your TV.

But it's fine. I understand some people are stuck in their ways and no amount of convenience will appease them. ****, people still write checks at the grocery store.

I'm in full agreement with you, but I just have to say that this part literally made me laugh out loud so hard that I spit water out of my mouth.
