During the opening credits... when the intro theme song is playing... showing the truck pulling up to the store-front off of a public street... pulling around back and then Fred follows him with the news-paper under his arm.
This street the truck pulls off of.... and the store-front itself, and all the other store-fronts you can see also.... where is this street... and where is this building the Sanford And Son sign was ontop of during those credits? The building has to be a real building, atleast at one point in time. I know they filmed on a sound-stage prolly the actual show, but where is this place they show during the opeing credits/theme song? Anyone ever find it? What does it look like now? I like to visit film locations. I have visited all the film locations for the 1974 horror classic The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. All around Austin,TX. Visited them twice actualy. And purchased the front screen door off of the Leatherface House on the 2nd trip from the house owner. It is the same door that you see in the movie numerous times. Anyone interested in that by chance can simply visit ?http://www.myspace.com/thetexaschainsawmassacre and there is also some info about it onhttp://www.texaschainsawmassacre.net in the 'fan fotos' section under the name 'Bogues'. Now, as you can see, Im serious. So thats why I am asking all these odd-ball questions on here... and for all I know some of them have been answered before. I think the topic about The Sanford And Son Truck went rather well. The question was answered and I ended up getting to talk to the old cat that currently owns the Sanford And Son Truck. Thats a pretty good ending to a topic I would say. So, hopefuly this topic will end much the same way. Hopefuly somebody knows something about this location in question?

10659 Magnolia Blvd, North Hollywood, CA 91601 (now Power Plumbing)
Watch Emergency! hulu.com/watch/36216/emergency-alley-cat (copy and paste into browser) Go to 15:35 and watch as they pull up to a storefront, they pass an intersection, and a streetlight next to a power pole, then a vacant lot, then the store. The awning matches even to the second to last green trim being bent. Pay attention to the buildings in the background and then go to the address above in Google Earth. As you look around in street view, you'll see the stores across the street are still the same. Compare that to the opening credits of Sanford and Son and it falls into place. As Lamont pulls in the driveway, you can see a sign in front of the house, to the right of the driveway and a power pole to the left of the driveway. Both are in the Google earth photo. Shady Grady |

That was neat to watch I'll have to go by there on my next Hollywood trip. Thanks for sharing.
