More chance of higher ratings at 9pm, especially in late fall/winter. Shark Tank could go over a 2 at 9.

I hope so too. The comedies should air at 9:00, or be rescheduled for Tuesdays at 9:00 when Happy Endings/Apartment 23 bomb there. That way I can see LMS/Malibu and Touch without them being timeslot rivals.

I don't see any reason why Happy Endings or Apt. 23 will bomb, both have their followings and have seen some critical support. Happy Endings in particular is very popular at ABC and with critics. I think ABC has realistic expectations of what these shows will do viewership wise and will allow them time to grow.

Apartment 23 was below a 2.0 demo WITH Modern Family as a lead in. Without it, it'll struggle to break a 1.3 demo.

That was what once? That wasn't its average. Happy Endings should do fine.

Cougar Town collapsed without a stable lead in, and I'm sure Apartment 23 won't do any better. Happy Endings may do fine since it has Dancing with the Stars, but once again, a 2.0 may be hard to get for the show. I see ABC making quick changes with these two comedies.

I like Apartment 23 but I don't think it'll survive in that timeslot.

Cougar Town collapsed with a stable lead in? Wanna take a look back at Last Man Standing's spring numbers? Haha!

By the end, they were both pulling in low numbers.

You're right, but it certainly isn't fair to say it had a stable or really all that successful of a lead in.

Read his post again. He said Cougar Town collapsed WITHOUT a stable lead-in.

Trust me,

anyone who knows me on here knows I never pick a fight, so don't take this as me picking one now, but...

are you really under the impression that the show that aired after LMS was the reason for its ratings collapse? You think people saw that CT was airing at 8:30 and said, "hey, forget about that show I love at 8:00 because there's no way I can just change the channel in a half hour's time"? That's ludicrous. People weren't enjoying what they were getting from Tim Allen and company or they liked something else on at 8 just a bit more. I'm a big fan of CT, but I know the former is likely the reason for its ratings collapse.

Cougar Town was the victim of poor scheduling, poor promotion and the obvious fact that ABC had given up on it and didn't do anything to help it.

I guess it was just a coincidence that LMS's ratings went down the minute Cougar Town was put on the schedule. After DWTS went on it's winter break, LMS was practically the only show holding up the Tuesday night lineup. The rerun ratings that aired there were doing better. LMS was a half hour show. When you watch that live you can't change the channel to another network when all that's on are hour shows. CG had no buisiness being in that slot. I don't think ABC thought the show would do anything and was caught off guard when it did. They did give it 2 extra episodes so they must have liked what the ratings were at the time. They should have programed another family comedy after it and I don't mean Man Up. BTW I never watched the show live as I watched NCIS. I'm just talking about the ones that do.
