My choices would be "Forrest Gump" And" Close Encounters Of The Third Kind" Both were wonderfully original and very cool!

I'd say my All time favorite movies are Walk the line/ Johnny Cash story, Little darlings with Kristy Mc Nichol and Matt Dillon , Urban Cowboy with John Travolta and Debra Winger and Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds , oh and also the original Amityville Horror!

Adding Rosemary's baby to my list!

So many to name, probably my all time favorite is Harold And Maude. Dawn Of The Dead (1978) is my favorite horror film of all time. Also a huge fan of the original Star Wars trilogy, Peter Jackson's Lord Of The Rings, Planet Of The Apes (1968; Escape From, and Conquest Of are my favorite of the sequels)

Love...
Brazil (1985)
A Hard Days Night (1964)
Spirit Of The Beehive (1973)
Ed Wood (1994)
La Femme Nikita (1990)
Raiders Of The Lost Ark (1981)
Bullitt (1968)
Gone In 60 Seconds (1974)
Night Of The Living Dead (1968)
Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)
The Hobbit Trilogy
Little Fugitive (1953)
The Time Of Their Lives (my favorite Abbott & Costello movie)
Artists & Models (favorite Martin & Lewis)
The Ladies Man (favorite solo Jerry Lewis)
Assault On Precinct 13 (1976)
Rollerball (1975)
Carnival Of Souls (1962)
Jean De Florette, and its sequel Manon Of The Spring
American Pop (1981)
The Plague Dogs (1982)
Watership Down (1978)
When The Wind Blows (1986)
Bride Of Frankenstein (1985)
The Shawshank Redemption (1994)
The Green Mile (1999)
An American Werewolf In London (1981)
Repo Man (1984)
Suburbia (1983)

Trust (1990)
Simple Men (1992)
Jaws (1975)
Picnic At Hanging Rock (1975)
The King Of Comedy (1982)
The Evil Dead trilogy

And being a huge fan of cheese, bad flicks, schlock, exploitation, and the just plain weird, some of my faves of these would be:

The Pit (1981)
Spider Baby (1967)
The Baby (1973)
Death Race 2000 (1975)
Private Parts (1972)
Pieces (1982)
