Post What year was it supposed to be at the end?

What year was it when Joanie married Chachi? Not the real year but on the show. 196? If I am correct I remember Joanie wearing a t-shirt with the year on it in the first part but I forgot what it was.

I would apreciate it.

The t-shirt was for the 'Great Tour of '65' for some band (The Kinks?). It can be assumed that it probably ended sometime in late 1965 or early 1966 since Howard mentions in one of the last episodes, that the Braves were leaving Milwaukeee, since the team moved to Atlanta prior to the 1966 season... but their timeline really doesn't add up because in the Home Movies episodes Joanie sends home movies from the summer of '62 and then the show ended 2 years later.

Actually it ends three years after that because wasn't Lori Beth PG in that? So there was the season that Richie jr. was born, the Joanie loves Chachi season, then the last. So that would make it 65 in that case... HOWEVER. I think that was a mistake

Because...

Remember when Richie was believed to be the the "kissing Bandit"? Well the date under his mug shot was nov 1960, then the year after there are tons of references to 61 making me think the year Arnolds burned down was actually the year when it was 62.

Was that confusing enough? LOL

I guess it doesn't really matter but I would believe 66 or 65 to be more accurate.

When HAPPY DAYS first came on the air, in January 1974, I'm 90% sure, they were in 1956, and not 1955, and yes, they did sort of jump around, with their years. IN the CHRISTMAS episode, where FONZIE gets an unexpected CHRISTMAS gift, from his long-lost father, which was the SIXTH SEASON, the photo album, at the close of the show, said 1960. Anyhow, if it were on, TODAY, I suppose they would now be in 1982 or '83

Didn't "Laverne & Shirley" start with the year 1959 two years later (it should have been 1958)?

In the FIRST YEAR of the CALIFORNIA episodes, LAVERNE & SHIRLEY were in 1965, the following year;1966, and, it was 1967, in the FINAL YEAR. In reality, LAVERNE & SHIRLEY went off the air in 1983, and they were about 2 or 3 years ahead of HAPPY DAYS

Since L&S moved to California before the 1980-81 season (which I think corresponded to 1964-65; I think the 1965 banner shown at the end of the beginning sequence was there for New Year's Day 1965 or New Year's Eve 1964) and L&S started in January 1976, it had 4-1/2 years worth of Milwaukee episodes, meaning that the show started in either 1959 or 1960. One of the episode titles has the year 1959 or '59 in it TTBOMK.

For the year(s) that Happy Days was supposed to be, I used to use this formula... the year the show was aired minus 18 years. Therefore:

1974 = 1956; 1975 = 1957; 1976 = 1958; 1977 = 1959; etc. So, 1984 (the serie's last year) would be 1966. Also, I remember reading a similar question asked to the creators or producers of HD. I think the question was asked in 1976 or 1977, and the question was, "What year are Happy Days and Laverne & Shirley set in?" Their answer was 1955-56 for Happy Days and 1959 for Laverne & Shirley.

Now THAT'S sort of how I figured out the years they were supposed to be in,when I found out that at CHRISTMAS 1978, they were in CHRISTMAS 1960, and in 1979, they were in 1961

I think it was supposed to be in the 1960's but it sure looked like the 80's to me!
