And so Interstate 69 continues into Mississippi, running concurrently with I-55 before turning ninety degrees to the west and running concurrently with State Route 304.

I-69 rnbaches off from Mississippi Route 304 and discontinues again just a few miles beyond that, still in the town of Hernando. It then becomes State Route 713. Where will I-69 pick up again, after leaving off so many times? Stay tuned.

Interstate 69 picks up again in Cleveland, Texas, where it runs concurrently with the existing U.S. 59. It heads to Houston, where one of its former congressmen, Tom DeLay, proposed extending I-69 from Indianapolis to the Rio Grande.

And then Interstate 69, called the Southwest Freeway in the Houston area, ends again, in Rosenberg, Texas, near Tom DeLay's home town of Sugar Land. There are still a few short stretches of I-69 in southern Texas left to account for. It's going to take a long, long time before all of I-69 south of Indianapolis is one unbroken highway.

The current plan for Interstate 69 from Houston to the Rio Grande is to have it split into three spurs - an eastern spur, a central spur, and a western spur. None of the western spur, Interstate 69W, has been built yet, but parts of the central (I-69C) and eastern (I-69E) spurs are in service. The northern terminus of the first section of Interstate 69E begins at Interstate 37 in Corpus Christi and runs concurrently with U.S. 77.

The southern terminus of this stretch of Interstate 69E is just outside of Corpus Christi, in suburban Robstown. The highway then becomes U.S. 77 only.
