Cool The Ford Picture Thread!

In the spirit of the Volkswagen thread I started, I'd like to start a thread of pictures of Fords.

And to make it interesting, why don't we post pictures of both North American and European Fords, alternating between the two?

Here's a picture of a 1966 Ford Mustang to start!

Ford of Europe's equvialent to the Mustang was the Ford Capri!

It was sold here in the seventies by Lincoln-Mercury dealers!

He's a Ford, not a Lincoln!

Anyway, here's a 1965 Ford Falcon!

Now back to Europe for. . .the Ford Cortina!

The Cortina went through several restylings and was offered in a variety of models. It was even briefly sold in America. This one is a convertible.

This is a 1966 Ford Fairlane at a car show.
390-4 bbl engine rated at 335 horsepower. Even with mild rear end gearing, these cars could run 7-second 0-60 mph times and a 1/4 mile of 15 seconds at 92 mph.

One of my car friends had one of these. He would burn rubber in it often. I even have some pics of him doing that.

Well I've been told that Fords aren't good cars.

I would agree that the G.M. and Chrysler products were more reliable. (I'm talking about the '60s and '70s.)
There were some Fords that had a pretty good repair record like the Maverick and the Falcon.

Here's a Ford Pinto!

Despite its bad reputation for being dangerous due to having its gas tank right behind the rear bumper, the Pinto ended up being the only commercially successful small car to come of out Detroit during the seventies. Go figure.

From Ford of Europe, there was the Fiesta.

Introduced in Europe in the late seventies, the Fiesta was briefly sold in North America for three seasons (1978 through 1980). As you can tell, this is a 1980 model.

The Fiesta remains a popular car in the Old Country after several redesigns, but it's no longer sold here in the U.S. and Canada. Pity.

Here's a 1989 Ford Taurus.

Its European looks actually became popular with Middle America, and it was the benchmark of midsize sedans for many years.

While Americans and Canadians got the Taurus, Europeans got the Ford Sierra. It came as a hatchback coupe, a hatchback sedan (pictured) and a wagon.

Unlike the front-drive Taurus in North America, the Sierra was a rear-wheel-drive car. It too was a popular midsize vehicle.
