Warner Bros. has hired Jody Hill (creator and director of Eastbound and Down and Observe and Report) to write and direct an action film project that is currently untitled. The project is being kept under wraps, but we know that the story is set in the South n the 1970′s and involves an outlaw duo according to THR.
A few sources close to the film say that the project could evolve into a reboot of The Dukes of Hazzard, which was a 70′s television series and later became a 2005 feature film starring Sean William Scott and Johnny Knoxville. Hill wants to make a smart action film in the vein of Sam Peckinpah. I hope this doesn’t become a reboot, and stays an original film. But I expect Danny McBride and Seth Rogen to be involved some how and it be more comedic than action. Maybe it will be in the vein of Pinapple Express, but more of a 70′s western. Who knows? http://boomstickcomics.com/2012/05/l...azzard-reboot/

I love the original Dukes, but could never get into the remade movies, unless they were done with the original cast.

I love Dukes of Hazzard and would probably watch it.But it could never be anywhere near as good as the classic.

Why can't Hollywood leave the TV shows alone? Why can't Hollywood give us something original? Most TV based movies bombed at the theaters. Bewitched, Leave It To Beaver, The Honeymooners and many others.

The Brady Bunch, The Addams Family and The Fugitive were the only good theatrical remakes. The rest suck.
