I was looking at buying some of the books from the 60's and 70's. Are they any good and are they written for an adult or child reading level?

I bought the first one in the series (the one with Max and Fang on the cover) in my late teens and as I recall it wasn't too bad. I wouldn't put it in the "child" category.
