Solomon, is there a TBN studio in your building. What does Clifton do or what business is on the floor that Clifton works in?

Something having to do with Religion so that maybe the TBN thing.

It's like a "Christian Tonight Show" where Clifton interviews guests. I've seen a few episodes of it on YouTube - not bad!

I actually liked the first season of That's My Mama. There were some funny moments like The Honesty Day episode.

Tracy: Why did you really want to marry me Leonard?
Leonard: Your Body!
Tracy: What do you mean my body?
Leonard: Yes Body, B-O-D-Y!

Tracy: What about my mind?
Leonard:That was fine but that wasn't your mind popping out of your bikini!

Mama: You got a lot of nerve talking about my daughter that way.
Leonard: What I mean is that I had to be hooked by her looks!
Mama: You got alot of nerve callin my daughter a HOOKER!

The original Leonard who said those quotes was solid too, I don't know why they replaced him. The second season of That's My Mama was plain bad and featured a number of cringe worthy moments. Mostly by the "second" Leonard who got a bigger role. The best thing about both seasons of the show was Ted Lange as Junior. He cracked me up when he asked Clifton "Was That your Mama I saw floatin down the street, or a gigantic doily"

IMO, this show failed b/c:

1). The theme song change in S2

2). The production team also changed.

3). Switching Tracys

4). Earl became dumber than before. In S1 he wasn't as buffoon-ish as he was in S2.

I guess they were trying to make the show more family like and make the mother more sweet which was the tone of the season 2 theme song

Of course she is going to be compared to Florida, Weezy, and Mrs. Thomas because

1. They were black shows
2. They all aired during the same time

Now I guess a better comparison would be Mrs. Thomas since she was a single mother whose son had 2 friends come to the house all the time and hung out at the barbershop like the guys on What's Happening hung out at the soda shop. Plus Both woman had two kids which was a son and daughter

I thought the show was fine the way it was. I liked the season two theme song. I just wished Lynne wasn't replaced with Joan. She seemd to be a bit older than the Clifton character and the other Tracy was supposed to be younger.

This show's problem was the main character were dull. That wasn't the case on the other black shows

Sanford and Son....Fred and Lamont

The Jeffersons......George and Weezy

Good Times........James and Florida

That's My Mama.........."Clifton and his Mother
