The "Frasier" Tossed Salad And Scrambled Eggs Song Finally Explained
By Dan Hopper April 10, 2012 Have you ever wondered why Kelsey Grammer sings that “Tossed Salads And Scrambled Eggs” song during the "Frasier" closing credits? What’s that, it’s made you unable to sleep every night since 1993? Well GET READY TO SLEEP! Here’s the story behind the song and the “tossed salads and scrambled eggs lyric,” as told by its composer Bruce Miller: "I was told they wanted something pretty eclectic and jazzy, but to avoid any direct references to specific subject matter. So it was necessary to stay away from words about psychiatry, radio shows, the name “Frasier”, and anything else directly indicating aspects of the show. I immediately wrote the song/music itself, but then needed a lyric that would work, so I called my friend Darryl Phinnesse who is really talented and really smart. I gave him the idea of the show and he called back with the idea of “Tossed Salads and Scrambled Eggs”. At first I was a bit baffled myself until he explained that these were things that were “mixed up”….like Frasier Crane’s patients… But I don’t know what to do with those Tossed Salads and Scrambled Eggs” – it’s a tough business….gotta deal with these “crazies” every day." http://www.bestweekever.tv/2012-04-1...lly-explained/ |

That's interesting. I also heard Kelsey say in an interview that he wanted to be the one to sing the theme song.

You know it's easy being someone you feel close to when you feel close to someone who's so close. |

I wondered about the meaning behind the song.
