You are right, it is sad. I recall watching Alice and laughing out loud many times. It's not as funny as The Jeffersons, 3's Company, Too Close For Comfort, or Fresh Prince but still funny!

The chemistry between Mel and the waitresses was great! Some of the goofy diner guests they had were great too.

DVD craze isn't as good (correction it's nowhere near) what iOffer offers, plus it's not a auction/buy/sell site, what is on the site is what THEY sell...that's it! Most of their stuff is total junk. That have listings up for shows and then when you click on them they don't exist lol...

What is iOffer? A private auction site or something? Wouldn't those be illegal bootlegs?

At first it comes off as similar to eBay, but there's no bidding to "win". Just find what's being sold and buy it, like on Amazon. Yes, I'd consider them illegal bootlegs but you see that all the time.

Those companies are a scam! They record tv episodes off cable channels, create a nice package, and offer it for sale at a high price. Usually TV series that have not been commercially released on DVD.

There is a huge risk of not even recieving any discs at all, or broken copies, incomplete episodes... with ioffer you have a chance of the seller being honest at least.

Yeah! I-offer is a completely different situation. People on I-offer are usually collectors of rare tv programs or short-lived series, that put together dvd sets and offer them for sale. And most of the time they tell you exactly what your getting, the quality of what's being viewed and the source of which it originally was recorded.

I've gotten some cool stuff on I-offer. A few sets I got, were put together so professionally, you'd thing it was a commercial release. I did get screwed once, never received what I ordered, and the seller just dropped off the radar, but that's rare.

I have made purchases from four different sellers on ioffer, and I have not been dissapointed by any of them. The secret is to check the buyer's ratings of the sellers before purchasing. They are legitimate. I have posted reviews of the sellers I have bought from myself and seen them posted. I purchased Pete and Gladys in 2008 and got a very watchable set of 18 episodes of this rare show along with two bonus episodes of December Bride. I Also have purchsed the following feature films: Whoopee! and Kid Millions with Eddie Cantor, The King of Jazz, a 1930 Technicolor film revue, Secret of the Incas, a 1954 Charlton Heston film, and Mother Is A Freshman, a 1949 Loretta Young comedy. I have been extremely pleased with all my purchases from ioffer. Shop carefully, and you should'nt be dissapointed. The prices I paid were very cheap: under $20 for Pete and Gladys, and between $7 and $12 for the films, including shipping, which was under two weeks for everything I ordered. In addition, the Cantor films were of truly superb DVD quality, as professional looking as any legit release.

1. Never being released on DVD

2. Not in syndication


Isn't it a good thing that someone actually recorded the show while it was still in syndication so that a fan has the opportunity to see it again? I'm not sure I understand the scam part

Most of the sellers on ioffer embelish the quality of their sets I have been disappointed many times in the past and would consider more the half the sellers as scammers. Its a crapshoot. As for the Alice sets being offered they are all poor quality 6-7 at best other then the episodes commercially released like Season 1.

Can we really expect A+ Quality for a show that has not been in syndication? I mean at best all we can expect is WATCHABLE because how else would you be able to see the show?
