The Bible is getting its own game show! Game Show Network has given a pilot order to The American Bible Challenge, an original one-hour game show which tests contestants on their Biblical knowledge. It is executive produced by Who Wants To Be A Millionaire executive producer Michael Davies of Embassy Row and Tom Forman of RelativityREAL. Also involved as consultant producers are Nick Stuart and Maura Dunbar of Odyssey Networks, the country’s largest multi-faith media coalition. “The American Bible Challenge celebrates America’s passion for The Bible in an entertaining, unconventional format that makes The Good Book more accessible to the whole family,” said GSN’s new EVP Programming Amy Introcaso-Davis, who joined the network in November. Given the spiritual subject of the show, it’s not surprising that the contestants won’t be vying for cash prizes for themselves. “The competition will be rooted in personal stories of faith and community, and the teams will compete to win money to help support their faith communities,” the network said.

I'm a little confused by your choice of "smilie" at the beginning, Brian. How would a Bible-related game show would get an "EEK!" reaction?

I Can't speak for Brian but the current pathetic state of GSN's programming definitely warrants that smilie. I can just see this new Bible game show sandwiched in between Sherri Shepard's horrible version of The Newlywed Game and the Jerry Springer hosted Baggage. ![]()

Jeff Foxworthy Hosting "The American Bible Challenge"
03/21/2012 How well do you know the Bible? Jeff Foxworthy can help you find out. GSN has tapped the comedian to host "The American Bible Challenge", a game show that tests contestants' knowledge of the scripture, with the intention of celebrating the Bible and incorporating it into contemporary life. "I am excited to be hosting a show about the bestselling book of all time," Foxworthy said in a statement. "It will be interesting to find out what people really know, and an opportunity to present the Bible in a fun and entertaining way." The pilot for "American Bible Challenge" will be shot later this month. The show's official air date is yet to be announced. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/0..._1370524.html? |

i hope GSN hires David Vanacore with the Blessed Kateri Children's Choir singing "Are You Smarter Than Your Local Pastor" as the theme song for GSN's American Bible Challenge! (LOL!)
here are the lyrics to the made up theme song for GSN's American Bible Challenge: "Are You Smarter Than Your Local Pastor, are you the only Holy Scripture Master, well, just prove it right here on stage on The American Bible Challenge!" or here's another good idea hire Jeff Foxworthy as the host of Family Feud and ditch Steve Harvey for good!
