Default A Well Written Show...

I'm currently in the middle of watching "Bob and the Dumb Blonde," and I have to hand it to the writers. This is one of the best written shows of all time; it's such a shame no company will give it an official DVD release.

I agree; I've watched the episode "Grandpas Christmas Visit" on the THE BEVERLY HILLBILLIES AND PETTICOAT JUNCTION ULTIMATE CHRISTMAS COLLECTION DVD; and I'd LOVE to see more episodes.

Default There's a reason....

....WHY "THE BOB CUMMINGS SHOW" {aka "LOVE THAT BOB"} was so well written. It was because of the "architect" of the show, himself- Paul Henning. He and his collaborators- Phil Shuken, Shirl Gordon and Dick Wesson, among others- turned out brilliant scripts, week after week, for almost five seasons.
Very few of their efforts were "misfires"...and yet, they never got an Emmy for their efforts. Ann B. Davis, however, DID- TWICE- for being "Schultzy". And it was their scripts that helped her win them!!!

And by the way, 'TV DVD Fan', there is now an effort to try to bring Bob's series- officially- to DVD. It's in the early stages of negotiation, and rights have to be discussed with NBC/Universal [who owns the show], but there is a chance that, within a year or so, the first volume WILL be released! As they say, "stay tuned".......

GREAT!!! Keep your fingers crossed that everything gets worked out!!

It's like what TV GUIDE said once, a few years ago-eventually EVERYTHING that's ever been on TV will get a DVD release.

OK, i take it that the long silence means the deal/possibility has fallen through? Or is this just a dormant release that's waiting for something like a nostalgia-based TV channel to trigger old-time sentiments towards the great shows of the 50s and 60s? Me hopes yes...
