Hi, "Gimme A Break" fanfiction writers and readers! I am chairing a Fanfiction panel at the Mid-Atlantic Popular Culture Conference in Boston this fall and am looking for fanfiction analyzers to submit a proposal for a short paper or talk. This is not for your actual fanfiction but for your ideas about "Gimme A Break" fanfiction, fanfiction in general, fanfiction fans, etc. Do you have a point about the fanfiction relating to a certain book, author, film, tv show, etc.? "Fanfiction" here can take the form of stories, plays, poems, films, videos, comics, etc. as the subject for your analysis. I'm sure many of you have some good points to make! This is a fun conference with alot of great popular culture discussion as well as some wonderful presentations on televsion in particular. If interested, just send me your proposed title and a brief statement of your idea some time this month (sooner is better). Send to: littlemonster3141@yahoo.com Thanks. I'd love to hear from you!

In the episode, "Joey's Train", Nell finds out that the Chief has passed away.
Now, they never mentioned how he died, but this is my take on it.... Chief Carl told Nell that he was going on a Stakeout at MacArthur Park since there was too many Drug-Related deaths in that area. So Carl and Officer Simpson go and find out what is happening at MacArthur Park that night. There, Carl and Simpson do see a Gang Fight that goes full-force and Carl would stop the fight, but as the Police Force stop the fight...someone from the gang shoots Officer Carl, so he gets Officer Simpson to call Nell right away. Back home, Nell is asleep and she hears the phone so she answers the call from Officer Simpson who was at L.A. Metro Hospital saying that Carl is in 'Serious Condition' so Nell goes to the Hospital right away. Nell sees Carl and Carl says "Nell...I don't think I'm going home anymore". There, as Nell starts crying...Carl dies. Simpson asks "Should I make arrangements for his funeral". Nell says "No...not now", and the Funeral was set two days later, Nell never told Carl's family that he won't be coming home. Then...comes the episode "Joey's Train"....
