Default Honeymooners Returns to WPIX (CW11) Airing Sunday Nights 1-2AM Starting March 16!

BANG….ZOOM! CW11/WPIX-TV Announces HONEYMOONERS VIEWER’S CHOICE HOUR

WEEKLY VIEWER’s CHOICE HOUR BEGINS SUNDAY MARCH 16

ALL 108 EPISODES TO AIR ON CW11/WPIX-TV

NEW YORK, February 25, 2008 – For over 30 years, the CW11/WPIX-TV has been New York ’s home for the Honeymooners. Now, the CW11 will begin a year-long Honeymooners Viewer’s Choice Hour to run every Sunday night. See all 108 episodes of hamana-hamana-hamana hijinks with Ralph Kramden (Jackie Gleason), Ed Norton (Art Carney), Alice Kramden (Audrey Meadows) and Trixie Norton (Joyce Randolph) in a weekly viewer’s choice hour commencing Sunday March 16th from 1-2 am.

Beginning on March 7th, Honeymooners fans can visit CW11.com to vote for their favorite episodes. Each week, the two episodes with the most votes will air in the Viewer’s Choice Hour on the CW11 on Sunday nights.

Can’t remember the title of your favorite episode? CW11.com will feature a short clip from all 108 Honeymooners episodes (with title, cast and summary information) on the voting page. Each week, viewers can log on and vote for the two episodes they want to see on air that weekend. On Sunday nights at 1am the CW11 will air back-to-back-episodes of the top two vote-getters. Once an episode has aired it will be removed from the polls and all episodes will air only once.

“CW11 is extremely excited to put the weekly programming of Honeymooners episodes in the hands of its passionate fans. Each year after the CW11 airs the Honeymooners New Year’s Marathon , the station receives a tremendous amount of feedback and we wanted to thank our audience by allowing them to program the Viewer’s Choice Hour,” said Betty Ellen Berlamino, CW11 Vice President and General Manager.

LOL! Meaning all 108 episodes that they have? I wonder which 69 Lost Episodes will be included, I thought there were only 68 in syndication. I'm glad they're back on TV though...even if it is at 1 a.m. Monday mornings.

Some of those half hours have two sketches and some sketches were cut into two half hours. Could that account for the discrepancy?

Could be, but if by "108 episodes" they mean the Classic 39 and 69 Lost Episodes, that still leaves out 7 Lost Episodes from the DVD collection. I'm guessing "Lost Baby," "Quiz Show," and "What's The Name" won't be included as usual, they'll probably omit one of the two versions of "Vacation At Fred's Landing," as well as "Christmas Party" and "New Year's Eve Party" due to the musical numbers. The 7th is anyone's guess though...maybe "Santa & The Bookies" or "Halloween Party" unless it's that time of the year, or "Songwriters" for the same reason as "Christmas Party" and "New Year's Eve Party"?

I just thought I would point this out.

The episode "What's The Name" (the one with Ralph & Alice singing) IS included in the syndication package. I remember recording it off of WPIX in 1997. It is attached to "Lawsuit." Also, I did a tape trade with a guy who has "What's The Name." He taped it off of a TV station (I call tell by the logo on the screen.)

"What's Her Name" IS NOT Part of the syndication package though.

Wow, thanks for pointing that out. I knew one of them wasn't in syndication, but I always assumed it was "What's The Name," because of the musical number at the end.

Honeymooners on WPIX 11 is what I grew up with.

It's great that it will be back on, though I would prefer it was on at midnight or 11:30.

I wish they would stick The Odd Couple right before it, that would really take me back to days of old.

Glad to see there's still love for The Honeymooners at channel 11. They're one of the few stations left that is willing to pay homage to its programming past from time to time. You really have to give them credit for finding a way to call attention to a vintage series and appeal to the sensibilities of a generation that gets programming "on demand." Stations have gone the viewer's choice route before as a one-time stunt, but how many have actually commited to a full year?

Even though I could watch any of those episodes any time I like on video, there is something nostalgic about watching them on the station where I first viewed them. I'd prefer Saturday night myself, but that's what video recorders are for, right?

After eviewing the post that I posted yesterday in this thread, I did some research and I found out that both "What's The Name/What's Her Name" are BOTH included IN syndication. "What's The Name" is attached to "Lawsuit" while "What's Her Name" is attached to "Champagne & Caviar."

"Songwriters" IS also in syndictation. I remember recording this episode from WPIX in 1997. (Yes, despite the fact that Ralph & Ed sing a sing that was made before the epsiode was made called "My Love Song To You", this episode is shown in syndication.)
