To think TBS is airing it like crazy is no shocker. They have done this before. I wonder what connection TBS (or its executives) have with this movie? What is so damn special abt it? I can think of at least five BETTER movies they can air rather than air a marathon of that movie. Why not a cluster of Christmas-related programming? Thank you Solomon for mentioning this for your rant!

Flavor of Love reruns on VH1???? Why am I not surprised. That station loves to milk their shows to death. Next year it will be I love New York season one marathon.

I really don't care what VH1 airs, as everything on that network is crap (except for when Grease is on). As for the TBS marathon it would be one thing if they were airing a classic like It's a Wonderful Life or the original Miracle on 34th St. But who cares about 24 hours of A Christmas Story? And I agree the NFL Network should not be airing college games.

TBS (and TNT previously) always airs the marathon each year. A lot of people like the movie, but I have to agree 24 hours is excessive. The Turner movie library is huge, and you'd think they could dig up some other great Christmas movies. But of course, they can market and promote the marathon and get sponsors, so it's all about money anyway.

As for NFL Network, they are still trying to get picked up on basic cable so they probably will air any "event" to draw viewers. Believe it or not, there was talk last year that they were in the running for one of the MLB League Championship Series before TBS got it.

Uh I watch TV on Christmas Day. I have the TV on all day watching different Christmas shows & movies with hubby.

The Christmas Story marathon has been going for years. I love it that they do this every year. This is one of my all time fave Christmas movies. I can watch this movie over & over. I never get sick of it.

I don't get it either. I feel like Elaine on Seinfeld with, The English Patient, lol. I finally watched A Christmas Story, about two years ago, and I hated it. I found it boring. To each, their own, I guess.
