We all know them and we all love them. We have all seen these movies so many times we can quote entire scenes verbatim…yet we still watch them whenever they’re on. These classic movies are back for nostalgic enjoyment this spring on TV Land.

Friday, May 4 10pm-12am
National Lampoon’s Vacation (1983)
The Griswold family, father Clark (Chevy Chase), wife Ellen (Beverly D’Angelo), daughter Audrey (Dana Barron) and son Rusty (Anthony Michael Hall), set out in high spirit to spend their vacation driving cross-country from Chicago to a glorious climax in Walley World on the West Coast. The trip which Clark planned down to the minute, slowly loses its smoothness from the moment the first grain of sand gets in. A meeting with constantly-in-debt, simple-minded cousin Eddie results in the Griswold family giving cantankerous aunt Edna a lift to Phoenix. Of course, the Griswold’s receive one strike of bad luck after another, and when they finally arrive at Walley World, they have to find out that the park is closed for maintenance. But Clark promised his beloved family the best vacation ever.
Encores: Friday 4am, Saturday 12pm & 11pm; Wednesday 6pm; and Thursday 12pm.

Friday, May 11 10pm-12am
Soapdish (1991)
Celeste Talbert has been the queen of the soaps for over two decades. Montana Moorehead needs to get her out of her way before she can move on and begins her program to get her to leave. She hires an old boyfriend of Celeste to be on the show and has Celeste become a murderer in the script, but each attempt has unforseen consequences.
Encores: Saturday 12pm & 11pm; Wednesday 6pm; and Thursday 12pm.

The wages are lousy and everybody hopes for the big break. Lilah Krytsick is housewife with an ambition to be a stand-up comedian, however she doesnt seem to have the talent. Steven takes her under his wings and teaches her the art of comedy and humour. But when a TV station arranges a comedy evening at the club, Steve sees his opportunity for fame and stardom. Their friendship seems quickly forgotten and now it's every man and woman for him- or herself!

I really like the Memorial Day weekend event. Even if they had this schedule on the weekends, I would be pleased with TVLand.

No new classic shows? That figures; enough with these stunts and new material. I though TVLand was trying to gain the attention of Baby Boomers. If they want to, bring back material from the 50s and 60s, and even 70s, and quit with 2007!

I agree that they need more variety to their schedule. These stunts are the same tired old shows. However, I doubt if they are interested in Baby Boomers. They are older than the usual 18-49 demos networks seek.

Anything new to report on the two shows expiring in June (Flip Wilson [I think, or was it July?] and Good Times), PB? I'm not really expecting for either to be renewed, but who knows. Just thought I'd ask.

I doubt Flip Wilson will be renewed. Good Times has a chance. It is even having a night marathon (11p-3a) for two days in early June. I know it expires at the end of June, but it could be renewed.

All in the Family returns to the schedule and will air weekday mornings at 8, paired with The Jeffersons. And The Cosby Show returns as a regular in the overnight hours. Star Trek cut to just 4 times a week in its 5a and 6a slots. Everything else is just minor time changes.

Wow, I was finally getting used to this schedule, since we haven't seen many changes in awhile, but this schedule is probably worse. The Jeffersons being on an hour later is not a good thing, since by that time I'm just leaving for work. Plus, there is way to much of the same shows airing over and over. If I count correctly, it look slike Sanford and Sun are airing the most each week, with 5 episodes almost every day. Plus, why is Good Times al of the sudden getting all the attention? Why can't we get some good shows like All In the Family or The Jeffersons in primetime where they belong, instead of having 4 episodes in a row of MASH? Plus, Three's Company is now pushed back an hour later. Have the ratings for the show been slipping? I was really enjoying it back in primetime. Plus, It's nice to have the Cosby Show back, but that's too late for me.

It sure seems like I am doing a lot of complainging, again, but this network is just getting pushed in the wrong direction. I can honestly say I do not see one good thing about this schedule

Good Times was renewed so they can bulk up on the plays once again. It has always done well for them. Three's Company is doing fine, but M*A*S*H is doing great for them, and they decided to give us a two-hour block instead of breaking it up.

The Jeffersons didn't do well when it aired in primetime earlier this year. Nice to see them try What's Happening Now!! finally. Now if they can also try Ropers/Three's a Crowd, it would be great.

Sanford & Son has 5 airings, but only 3 new episodes. MASH and Andy have the most with 4 new episodes a day.

Overall, not a bad re-haul. I'm glad to see they didn't kill any shows with the new scheduling (especially "I Love Lucy"!) Although I think devoting 2 hours of primetime to "M*A*S*H*," even tho it's a good show,is a bit much
