Anyone who doesn't have the dvds will be able to see every single episode of What's Happening during the marathon. Not in sequence, but they're showing each of the eps during the marathon. I just wish I didn't have to wait til 3 a.m. to see What's Happening Now.

TV Land is showing WH!! and WHN!!? Cool! Since my local station took WH!!, I guess this is the one place I'll ever be able to see both of these both shows at once. Of course, myself belonging to a Yahoo Closing Logo Group will more than likely expect Sony to plaster the Columbia Sunburst and Torch Lady logos.

Hey...HAY...Hey!!

WHAT'S HAPPENING!! LAUNCHES ON TV LAND WITH
48-HOUR MARATHON BEGINNING SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 5

Santa Monica, CA, October 24, 2005 - Dust off your bell-bottoms and bright-colored suspenders and get ready to laugh when TV Land launches one of the coolest comedies of the 1970s - What's Happening!! - on Saturday, November 5. Join Raj, Dwayne, Rerun, Dee, & Shirley for a 48-hour marathon beginning 6 a.m. (ET/PT) as they go through the trials and tribulations of life in Los Angeles. In addition, special bonus episodes of What's Happening Now!! -- the series sequel which gave viewers a peek into how the gang turned out as they reached adulthood -- will also air both nights during the marathon from 3am-6am. What's Happening!! will air in its regularly scheduled timeslot of 11:00 P.M. every night beginning Monday, November 7th.

"What's Happening is truly one of the most memorable shows from the 1970s," states Larry W. Jones, President, TV Land and Nick at Nite. "The crazy antics of Raj, Dwayne and Rerun always provided comic relief, but most importantly, it was a sitcom rooted in family and friendship."

Initially planned to be a summer replacement show, What's Happening!! premiered on ABC in 1976. The show centers around three buddies growing up in Los Angeles who have a habit of getting into mischief and trying to find ways of getting rich quick. Raj (Ernest Thomas) was the studious dreamer, who wanted to be a writer; Rerun, (Fred Berry) was the happy, overweight clown who often wound up with his foot in his mouth and Dwayne (Haywood Nelson), was the shy tag-along, who was always striving to be "cool." When they weren't involved in some escapade, the three could be found hanging out at Rob's, a diner near their school, with Shirley (Shirley Hemphill) the waitress and friend. Family conflicts usually arose when Raj clashed with his no-nonsense Mama Thomas (Mabel King) who worked as a maid, and his sister Dee (Danielle Spencer).

I enjoyed watching some of the W.H. marathon this past weekend on TV Land. I really enjoyed that show when it was on originally and I continue to enjoy it today. Anyway, why in the **** did TV Land re-air the same third season episodes which they showed earlier that same day??????? If they went through all of the episodes before the marathon was over, why not go back to showing the earlier season one episodes which were superior anyway instead of repeating the same Third Season episodes which they had just shown a few hours earlier anyway??????? I only have Season One and Season Two W.H. season boxsets and I had forgotten how irritating "Little Earl" was.

I don't think that TV Land ever heard of "Jumping the Shark!" I'm glad I didn't watch on Sunday, b/c they aired the worst season of the show and on top of that, they even repeated the same damn season over and over.

Little Earl was totally annoying and out of touch w/ this show!

The same can be said about my local station when they last had WH during the summer months. All they did was air S3 over and over until they realized that there was plenty of S1 and S2 eps. needed to be aired. They also briefly even aired What's Happening Now!!! at the same time, too.

When TV Land finishes S3 of WH, will they go straight to What's Happening Now!!! or will they go back to S1 of WH? B/C I hope they have both WH and WHN to last them for at least a year.

Oh, well I have enough VHS tapes to last me a loooooooooooong time!

Umm, they aired season one over and over on Saturday, season two over and over on Saturday and Sunday morning, and season three over and over on Sunday. Some people like the third season (like me). TVLand isn't gonna just show the early episodes, especially if they're gonna pay a lot of money to show them all.

TV LAND should have done a ONE DAY marathon since What's Happening only produced 72 eps

I agree, or at least show every episode of What's Happening Now with it.

Well, to each his own, you are certainly correct that some people like the Third Season but for me, IMHO, the first two seasons were better. That's my personal opinion. I wonder why TV Land only showed a few of the What's Happening Now episodes????????? Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought that they only showed the What's Happening Now episodes overnight, real early in the morning. I happened to be up early on Sunday morning and saw some of the episodes. Did TV Land only have permission to air a couple of the episodes??????? It seems strange that if they were allowed to air some, they would be allowed to air them all. And if that was the case, why couldn't they have just gone through the episodes of the three seasons of W.H. and then show the episodes of W.H. Now??????? They could have at least shown the W.H. Now episodes at a more decent hour so that more people could have watched and enjoyed them. I can't remember the last time I was able to watch episodes of W.H. Now . . . . maybe when they were originally on for all I know. I know it's been a LONG time since I saw them, I know that.

The last time I saw WHN on cable was when BET had both WH and WHNow in the early '90s, along w/ Sanford, yes believe it or not, it's the 1980 version w/out Lamont!

Question Does this REALLY need to be pinned now???

Does this subject REALLY need to be pinned/with a sticky?
We already know about WH being on TV Land, its scores on the channel and so forth. It's already THERE...
In fact, it's getting to be a bit redundant to the point of, "Let's get another classic sitcom on TVLand!"
(Such as WHN, of course)
