Well Castle premieres this Monday (March 9) at 10pm ET/PT and I guess I should say something about it, as I've seen the pilot. Let me say, I'm not a fan of crime dramas of today...they are so generic and the same stuff. Crime/cop shows of the '70s/80s were so much better. ABC has tried a few crime dramas in recent years that well didn't work in the ratings or with me, like The Evidence and In Justice. However, this one is right up ABC's alley! It is like Moonlighting in 2009. Fillion and Katic are great together and the tension between the two makes this addictive. Fillion, who was great on Desperate Housewives, is very funny in this as a writer assigned a murder case that was a copycat from one of his books. There are two angles for the show...obviously the murder case and also the Castle/Beckett tension. The show will have Dancing with the Stars as its lead-in for the first four weeks, so the show will certainly have a big lead-in and I think it will be a solid show and the procedural ABC is looking for!
I have also the second episode airing (3rd produced), that I still need to watch...but I'm sure it will be just as good as the pilot, if not better. The case is about a dead nanny. The first episode has a case about a series of murders that are copycats from his book...but who is doing them? A fan of his books or someone trying to frame someone?

I have seen the first two Better off Ted episodes as well, but that will get a more formal review from us on the blog...as it is a sitcom and we review ALL sitcom pilots from the networks. So stay tuned for that! Also coming soon ABC wise: formal reviews of In the Motherhood and Surviving Suburbia, while I also mention here about my take on Cupid and The Unusuals.
