This is a really pointless thread, but every time I see season 5's opening credits, I always notice that Darlene puts a very large amount of salt on her pizza. Just something that bothered me.

I don't think it was salt, was it? I always thought it was parmesan cheese. But its not for herself, if you watch, she gives to to Roseanne at the end, and Roseanne takes a bite and starts laughing.

yeah, if you read roseannes lips before dan comes up and puts some on her pizza and the camera starts panning across the table in the long version, she says something about parmasian cheese.

Yeah... the extended version of the theme song(only used in "Crime and Punishment") shows that better.

I think Darlene put it on to annoy Roseanne but then Roseanne wipes it off.

I think Roseanne's got the best opening credits ever. The theme song was original (and changed) and the scene showed a slice of everyday life. I liked the morphing faces at first, but I did miss the table scene. It's a classic

I liked it because all but the last season didn't have any words. Don't get me wrong, I like some vocal theme songs, but the fact Roseanne didn't have any words made it unique. :)

Agreed. there's alot you can do with a song without words, as evidenced by the way they differently tuned the song every season or so.

same thing w/ the cosby show. see, now with a show like say, 3's company, there isnt much you can do w/ the themesong because it has always will have the same words. now w/ roseanne, they can change all the instrument if they want. and they do, sometimes. but a better example of this technique is shown in the cosby show. listen to the 2nd season where the trumpets are basically the backbone of the music. and then the 3rd season where latan music is introduced. i definatly prefer music without lyrics.

That's definitely parmesean cheese...no one puts that much salt on anything. Actually no one puts that much parmesean cheese on anything as well.

Who ever wrote the words knew what they were doing.
I like how in the final part of the last show every one is at the table and roseanne starts talking and the carmera starts panning around like in the opening I wish the would have done the open theme with the vocal theme song but with Connors sitting around the table in the new kitchen

Remember, the Conners didnt have the new kitchen at the beginning of season 9, but would have liked for them to have made that theme though.
