The Golden Girls had in fact three spinoffs- Empty Nest, Golden Palace, and the much under rated Nurses. It ran for three seasons (I believe during seasons 6 & 7 of the Golden Girls) and featured many cross over guests from GG and EN. I remember one story arc about a hurricane hitting Miami that was featured on all three shows. After tGG ended, Sophia joined the cast of Nurses.

I could be wrong...correct me if I am. But I dont' think "Nurses" was a spinoff of Golden Girls even though the Girls and Empty Nest characters were featured on the show.
Empty Nest was a spin-off of GG because the Westons already lived next door to the GG's before EN began. If anything, Nurses was a spin-off of EN because much of that show took place at the hospital. Wasn't Laverne on Nurses quite a bit? Maybe not...I don't really remember.
I don't think any of the Nurses characters appeared on GG or EN, but, as we all know, EN and GG characters appeared on Nurses.
Anyway, I think they were all created by Susan Harris.
It reminds me of the triangle back in the 60's with Petticoat Junction, Green Acres and Beverly Hillbillies. You could include Andy Griffith too because I think "Sara" was the telephone operator on all those shows.
Did Sophia really join the cast of Nurses? I know she was on sometimes but I never knew she was a regular character. ???

I don't think Sophia "joined" Nurses, she just appeared a few times.
The hurricane episode was great, as was the Moonlight Madness collection. There was something going on in Miami that night. I think there even was a full moon that night, so it went along perfectly.
I agree with shoc... I don't think you can call a spin-off of a spin-off in the same category. EN came from TGG, and Nurses came from EN. Golden Palace isn't really a spin-off, in my book. It was a revamping of the show.
That's my two cents...
