Mine was Episode 43: "To Tell The Truth" In Season 2.

The first one I remember seeing is Into that Good night but I already knew the characters names so I must have seen it in a magazine or something.

I was there from day 1, my dad had already been a fan of Roseanne from her HBO specials
Same here. I vaguely remember watching the pilot in 1988.

I either saw the pilot first, or I started watching sometime at the beginning of Season 1 on ABC. Don't remember the exact episode. I pretty much saw the entire series during its first run on ABC. Darlene was one of my celebrity crushes from childhood :p

I saw the very lastpart of "Don't Make Me Over" and all of "Aliens" last year on Nick at Night.
I know it's not the best episode but i liked it and that let me be surprised at how much better an episode could be.
There are three kinds of people: people who can count and people who can't.

The first one I saw was the Monday-Thru-Friday show on the Cosby@Nite launch marathon. I had heard of the show and had seen tidbits on tbs and abc but had never seen a full episode. I have been a viewer of C@N for just about my entire life (15 years) so i make it a point watch every new show coming to nick at nite. I didn't like at first partly because they went too fast and i didnt have time to fully understand the show because it would skip about a season and a half a night. But then when the marathon was over i started to appericate it and really enjoy the show for what it is.

Don't know the name of the episode but I just started watching Roseanne a couple of months ago. I was bored & nothing else was on so I decided to turn it onto the show. It was the episode Becky wasn't speaking to Roseanne & she'd always leave from the kitchen table & slam her chair. That's the episode that got me hooked!

hmmm, the one when Becky and Darlene were taking over responsibilities in the house, Darlene made something nasty for dinner, and Becky goes off to Dan and Roseanne to complain. During this, Darlene comes up and says "DJ likes it" and Becky says "DJ eats hair!". That was actually the line that got my attention and I have been hooked on the show since

The first episode I watched was the Home-Ec show where Roseanne taught Darlene's class to make meatloaf.
"Oh, no. Not meatloaf again!"

About 6 months ago or so, I was home sick and my mom was keeping me company. Roseanne started to play on one of the local channels, and we decided to watch it. She watched Roseanne on ABC but I was too young to appreciate it (I must have seen it at least a few times though, when the theme song played I recognized it)
The episode was "Breakin Up is hard to do" from Season 4. I laughed pretty hard at it, and ended up watching the 2nd episode they played. I was home sick for 3 or 4 days and ended up watching Roseanne all 4 days, and then went out and bought the Season 3 DVD.
Now I've got every episode taped and burned onto DVD for viewing at my leisure. Even though I've seen every episode at least twice (some much more), I still usually watch at least an episode or 2 every day. I never get sick of this show.

People who catch an early episode from seasons 2-5 get hooked.
But when I run across people who have seen an episode from seasons 1, 7, 8 or 9 they don't seem to like it. And then when an episode from 2, 3, 4 or 5 comes on they just SWITCH the station, thinking it is going to be the same as the first and later seasons.
SO SAD. If they only knew how great Roseanne really is. And don't get me wrong, I like almost all the seasons, but in order to get hooked on Roseanne I think you need to seen an episode from either season 2, 3, 4 or 5 and or a select few episodes in season 6.
That's just my opinion, though.

The first episode I caught of Roseanne was the pilot. I remember all the beforehand anticipation-- as a comedienne I couldn't get enough of, I couldn't wait to see Roseanne in her very own sitcom! After watching it, I do recall not clicking with Sal Barone (the NOT believable DJ). He just didn't seem like part of the family. Michael Fishman had it in the bag! Great timing-- he and Roseanne worked so well off each other-- and, talk about a "family" resemblance!
