I noticed that on the Rick Nelson Official Website there is reference to Elvis Presley Enterprises in the location of the snail mail offer for a Brochure of Rick Nelson Products. Has the Rick Nelson Estate "sold out" to the Elvis estate? I hope not. What is this connection all about?

Yes, ELvis Presley Enterprises has the rights to the sale of souvenir type products for Rick Nelson. Rick's manager, Greg McDonald, did this becasue he was a "partner" of Col. Parker. Partner is in quotes because Greg did not work with or for the colonel, but was his protege'. I think they worked together on getting this set up. The rights were sold to EPE to simplify Greg's life and Rick's estate. I don' know all the details of the arrangement, but it is only for things like T-shirts, mugs, lapel buttons, things you could buy at cncerts, but not the music or personal things of Rick's. The music rights are still owned by the Nelsons.

No, the Nelsons did not sell out to EPE. Dave is the estate executor, and Tracy is mostly in charge of Rick's belongings, like family personal pictures, his instruments and clothes. She and the twins are planning to open a Rick Nelson museum in Branson, MO when they can get it all arranged. Only 6 of Rick's guitars still remain, so that is sad.
