When you watch the 2nd season on DVD, Are you going to watch the episodes in......

Airdate Order or DVD order?


Well first of all i'm not going to watch the DVD until Sunday, since sunday is the 30th anniversary of Good Times debut. So i plan to have my own tribute and watch the episodes in (airdate order) because I want to see the episodes as they were presented to the American public in the 1974/75 on CBS. So i will print out a episode guide of season 2 from TVTOME.com and watch the episodes by airdate.

One thing I thought was strange when I first saw the dvd was that part 2 of JJ Becomes A Man (JJ Is Arrested) doesn't come right after part 1, so the dvd is definitely by production order. Disc one going by tvtome is:

I watched the first two episodes going by dvd order, skipped ahead to The Man I Most Admire, then watched JJ Becomes A Man parts 1 & 2 back to back.

Yeah that was weird not to have thetwo part episodes produced back to back.

You know, I was just about to put up a post about this very topic when I read this thread. I thought that was weird not to have J.J. becomes a man Parts 1&2 together. Even if the DVD was going by production date, they still should have put the two parts together. That didn't make any sense to me.

I am going to watch the first two episodes, then watch the first part of J.J. becomes a man and skip The Man I Most Admire and go into the second part, then skip back to this episode.

Which is why I will watch the entire 2nd Season in Airdate Order on the 30th Annversary of Good Times, Sunday Feb 8, 2004. That was extremely weird not to have two part episodes back to back.

Well Tomorrow I watch the DVD in CBS order with a printout of all the airdates. Looking forward to seeing Thelma's Young Man UNCUT.
