Two time defending Eastern Conference champs and his team is still first in the division, in that respect it's hard to justify getting rid of him. I'm not surprised though. If I had to pick, I'd say too soon.

I feel like if Jersey just completely fell off, that would be a more appropriate time, you below 500, slipping in 3rd or 4th place. Even after losing 5 in a row, they were still in first place. Of course, it may have gotten to the point where the team wasn't listening to him anymore and it would be better if a change was made. Just based on the standings, I feel another coach in a similar situation might have been giving more of a chance.

you dont see the under achievement...they are barely over 500... I dont think a new coach right now is the answer..unless they are trying to get DOC

The Nets got rid of Scott cause him & Jason Kidd didn't get along. Jason went to Rod Thorn probably & talked to him about getting rid of Byron. How can u fire a coach who has the highest winning percentage of any Nets coach in their team history? Plus he got them to the championship twice. The Nets players can't shoot, that's why they suck. Richard Jefferson & Kenyon Martin are dunkers, that's it. They have no outside shot. Kerry Kittles & Luscious Harris are the only good shooters on their team. Jason Kidd's jumpshot has always been terrible LOL. Instead of getting Byron fired, Jason need to work on his damn jumpshot & stop crying. I read that Jason & Byron got into a shouting match after a game in mid November or December last yr.

Kidd doesn't respect anybody in authority and has a lot of issues and problems about him both personally and professionally. Scott shouldn't had been fired after leading the team to two NBA Finals. He denies this whole-heartedly but Kidd was probably one of the main reasons that Scott was kicked off the team if not the main reason!!
