Happy 5th Anniversary to Sitcoms Online! [Archive] - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Websites come and go every day, but today Sitcoms Online celebrates it's 5th anniversary. It all began on January 19th, 1999 with a single page of links. Over the next few years, several new features were adding including the boards. The site has now had over 3.3 million visitors from over 100 different countries and has been featured in several publications including TV Guide.

I would like to say thank you to my friend and co-admin pavanbadal for all he does to help with the site especially the programming news and schedules, to all our moderators for volunteering to help keep peace on the boards, to Seth Thrasher for making the 5th Anniversary Commemorative Logos, and to everybody that has visited the site. Your postitive feedback and comments are appreciated and help keep me motivated to keep the site updated and running.

Looking forward to more years of fun and entertainment!

I remember the first time I visited Sitcoms Online. It was when Dana Plato died. CNN had a link to your Diff'rent Strokes site right below their article. I've been a regular visitor since, although it took me about two and a half years to finally register to post on the boards (did these message boards even exist yet in 1999?).

Through those few ups and downs, I'm very happy that I found Sitcoms Online. I've made friends, had a lot of fun, and it keeps on gettin' better. :)

Happy Birthday SO. I've been here 3 years last week, myself. Joined the MB even before I got to taking a look around the rest of the site (Came in through the FOL page in Jan, didn't get to the SO main page until March :-P). Sadly, a lot of people from back in my original heydey aren't around much anymore. I wonder what happened to 'em?

Eh, enough of this old fogey (OK, so I'm not old, but still) reminiscing, happy Birthday SO. :birthday:

yeah. talking here is really important to me and this place has changed me ALOT in real life. ive learned alot and talking to some people has made me realize that i should be proud of my weirdness. if i never came here i would probably still be some loser prep trying to be cool. i used to be really homophobic but ive gotten over it by reading things other people said and realized that you have to accept the way some people are. also im really glad im able to talk to holly on here cause shes one of the only people ive talked to that understands me. :)

I've been lurking around SO for the last few years...I didn't find the boards until the summer of 2002, and then I forgot about it...I found it again early last year and I've been here since. SO forever! :D

(BTW, the boards opened when TJ registered -- February 2, 2000, so that anniversary is coming up soon)

Happy Anniversary, SO! I found this site by searching up Leave it to Beaver. I found the message board and lurked around without signing up. One day I did. I made a lot of friends on here which have helped me with many problems. Thanks everyone.

One day while surfing the net I wanted to know if there was anything on one of my favorite people Mr. Freddie Prinze Sr. and the show he had starred on Chico and the Man. Lo and Behold the only place I found Chico and the Man was right here on Sitcoms Online and I've never left.

weirdness rocks. don't ever lose it, sarah. :) i've had some great moments on here because you make this board fun. in fact, you're one of the reasons i stay here. i'm glad i've stayed here as long as i have to get to know you. as for the rest of the people i talk to, you guys are great too. you are what sitcoms online (chit chat and random) are all about. happy anniversary, SO! :woohoo: and to many, many more. :cheers:

This is a great place. I started posting here in 2001. Back then, I was luvinjuan1980.

I don't plan on leaving anytime soon either.

TJ, Pavanbadal and all the moderators keep this place nice and all the friends I met here make me keep coming back. :)

I first came here in early 2000. I think that was when these boards were established. I didn't bother registering until later that year, because there weren't very many people around in those days, but look how things have changed. I see only good things in the future for this site. I like these boards a lot. Especially the section where you can watch the opening and closing theme songs of all the shows. These messageboards are awesome, and it's great we can all of our information about television on one site.

That's cool, I found some of my 2001 posts on there. I totally forgot how the board looked though, even when I looked there it still doesn't look familiar.
