9:00PM ABC Series Premiere: "Stephen King's Kingdom Hospital" Master of horror Stephen King gives this story a unique and menacing American touch. King himself describes it as "ER" crossed with "The Shining." Kingdom is a hospital whose bizarre population includes a brilliant surgeon who lives in the basement, a nearly blind security guard and a nurse who regularly faints at the sight of blood. But when patients and staff hear the voice of a girl crying through the halls and a patient destined for life as a paraplegic miraculously recovers, they are dismissive of any suggestion of mysticism or unseen powers... at their own peril. (Two hour premiere) Stars: Ed Begley Jr., John Cassini, Jack Coleman, Bruce Davison, Meagen Fay, Jamie Harrold, and Allison Hossack
(Series will air Wednesdays at 10:00PM starting March 10 on ABC)

bump!

thanks for that info pavanbadal.

I saw this review (http://www.liljas-library.com) posted on another site the other day. it makes it sound pretty good.

"Personally I think this is probably the best pilot I have ever seen. It's clearly the best thing King has written for TV to date. Please do yourself the favor of watching it on March 3. The only thing you will have a problem with is that you have to wait a week to see the next episode. This is TV history in the making, mark my words!"

They ran a ton of commercials for kingdom hospital over the weekend.

I liked them because they didn't give too much away but at the same time got me pumped to watch it.

I thought that van scene was incredible. it looked like something out of a movie.

Overall, it was a good start for the show and I'm excited to see what will happen next week.

It is a very good show. ABC will finally have a new drama that will deliver (with Alias, The Practice, and NYPD Blue).

Kingdom Hospital was very impressive yesterday in the ratings. #1 for the 9pm hour overall and viewers 18-49 and #2 in the 10pm hour overall (behind Law & Order) and #1 in the hour among viewers 18-49--it beat Law & Order!

That Druse lady is confusing me. Is she the only one who can hear that little girl? Why is Dr. Hook able to hear now? Sorry to ask so many questions but I just got really into the show.

Stephen King is my favorite writer, so I was really looking forward to Kingdom Hospital even though I have been very let down by most of the movies based on King's work. I loved the two-part pilot episode. However, episode two was a huge let down. I really like the cast though, I never knew that Andrew Mc Carthey could ever paly someone so creepy like Dr. Hook. :dog:

Last night was the best episode by far. The pace started to pick up and some lingering questions were answered. There were also some funny parts too - that orderlly looking at the porn mag and all the singing and dancing.

HOLLYWOOD -- With much-hyped Stephen King drama "Kingdom Hospital" bleeding viewers at a disturbing rate, ABC has decided to give its Wednesday night lineup an "Extreme Makeover."

ABC has decided to sound the death bell for "Hospital," moving the show from its current 10 p.m. Wednesday slot to 9 p.m. Thursdays, where it will do battle with two of TV's biggest hits: "The Apprentice" and "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation." "Hospital" will make its final Wednesday appearance this week, then shift to Thursdays on April 1.

"Extreme Makeover" replaces "Hospital" Wednesdays at 10. "Makeover," which has been bravely struggling to help ABC keep the lights on Thursday nights most of this season, moves into its new slot April 14, a week after "The Bachelor" has its two-hour season premiere.

ABC made a huge financial investment in "Kingdom Hospital," which the net hoped would usher in a new paradigm of limited dramas that could help eliminate the number of repeats on its sked. Skein got off to a promising start but took a dramatic dive its second week -- and continued losing viewers in subsequent weeks.

By contrast, "Makeover" has demonstrated the ability to attract sizable auds when given a halfway decent timeslot. A home redecorating edition of the franchise has also done well on Sunday nights.

-- So, this Wednesday night is the last airing at Wednesday 10 p.m., starting this Thursday it'll move to 9 p.m. -- so two episodes this week.

Thats fine with me that its switching timeslots. It seems that the whole series is just building to a big climax and I can't wait till it pays off.
