View Full Version : Do YOU Hang-out at Wal-Mart?

In spirit of Paris Hilton. Do you hang-out at your local Wal-Mart?

Personally I've never been to one because Target has always been closer, and Wal-Mart is like 20 minutes away. But come on... I've never met anyone who has.

Who does Paris think we normal people are... Nate?!

Nate hangs out at K-Mart. K-Mart is the ultimate white trash hang out.

No, i dont hang out at wal-mart. But i did see that and me and my friends found it funny, since a few weeks ago we didn't feel like going to school so we went to the mall..but the mall didnt open til 9 so we just chilled in wal*mart until it opened:lol:

Uh...You may want to rethink your statement before blurting it out. I used to live in a small town, and the only major stores they had there were Walmart and Kmart. I only shopped there for school supplies and other household items, but not clothes. For my clothes, I would go to Grand Forks (where Dru Sjoldin was abducted from) to the mall there.

Now that I'm back home, I do my shopping at Target and other places...I only have to go to Walmart if I REALLY need to and I"ve only had to do that once the whole time I've been here (3 months now), because they have stuff that Target doesn't carry. BTW, here the Walmart and Target are across the street from each other, but the Kmart is clear across town from where I live (a good 20 minutes away) so I don't even bother.

BTW, the Hilton sisters are HUGE ho's.

For that, I ain't going to vote in this poll. **** it.

I shop there. The one by my house is really nice. It's a good place to get laundry detergent, cleaning supplies and other stuff for around the house. I haven't found any other place around here that is cheaper. I've seen some really good sales on CDs and stuff too.

Some are real nice. The Super Wal-Mart down the street from me looks like the ones you see in commercials. It's really nice and clean... we do all our grocery shopping and everything there. Although the ones around here (which there is QUITE a few) are clean I have been to some scummy ones. Like in the more 'ghetto-ish' part of town (which is like umm 25 minutes away). Whoa, there's dirt on the ground- no kidding

I don't 'hang-out' at Wal-Mart however. It might wreck my image. LOL Whatever image that may be... lol

That's like it is where I live. Wal*Mart is 15-20 minutes away from my house, but it is the closest store. There is no other options. The nearest mall is about 45 minutes away. I don't hang out at Wal*Mart, but that is pretty much the only store around here.

Doesn't the "if" clearly state that she doesn't have Brit's body?

Are there still regular Wal-Mart's around that are not the Supercenters with the grocery store and all the hair salons/banks/video stores/McDonald's/etc. I loved Wal-Mart back in the 80s and 90s when it was just a regular store, now it is so big and is made just like an ugly warehouse. It use to look a lot better before they expanded to the Supercenters.

i don't necessarily hang out there but i shop there. i also used to have a small part time job there on the side.

can't understand all the hang-ups people have about walmart. all the other employees seemed to like the company and most had been there for 10+ years the length of time that particular store was open.

i got payed $9 which is pretty good for a new hire in retail and my lunch breaks were an hour long. and walmart was trulya blessing when we were struggling financially as we wouldn't have been able to have food on the table with out their affordable prices.

as far as target i only go there maybe twice a year if that. their clothes are poor quality and not true to fit. their size large in reality is a size small.

and kmart is a lost cause. its gone so downhill. i haven't been in one in ten years. even if i wanted to they're hard to find as out of all the stores they had in the 80's and early 90's there are only 2 left in the entire state now.

Don't even worry about that. :) It's always better to start a new thread if its in CC then to bump up an old one. Bad memories for some I guess.

I don't hang out at any stores. lol! But I do shop at the 3 stores mentioned above. I have noticed that on the weekends many of the mexican migrant workers seem to hang out at Walmart. Not sure why that is though.

Oh jeez.

When I answered this thread almost 5 years ago, I mentioned WM and Target being across the street from each other. Not anymore. They both closed their old locations. Target here is in a different location but in the same mall, and Walmart is now about 2 miles or so down the street.

I shop exclusively at Target now, seeing as I work there. Haven't set foot inside WM since maybe before Christmas. I like Target's zipup hoodies and certain winterwear, but that's about it. Don't really buy clothes there now. I hit up JCPenney for that, heh. Haven't been to a Kmart in AGES.

And seriously, can this thread PLEASE DIE.

I get what I need then leave!!

I think that's the goal of most people at any store. I think the only store I've ever "hung-out" at is Barnes and Noble. But they have comfy chairs and a Starbucks...they practically ask you to stay awhile.

I only know of one Target in my area and that's over in MD about 20 minutes away so that's why I've only been there once. We have about 3 Walmarts around here that I know of including one that's just up the road from where I live.

We have two Targets, two Walmarts and two Meijers near to where I live. I shop at the Target where I used to work. I think that Target is a much more classy store than Walmart.

i agree. the Wal*Marts around here tend to be trashy and dirty. i went to one in Wildwood (South Jersey) that was nice though.

there's like 4 Targets within in a half-hour of me and probably the same amount of Wal*Marts, maybe more. so i guess you can say both of them are all over the place here :p

I knew this thread seemed familiar, then I noticed that I'm the one who created it... nearly FIVE years ago!

Anyhow, since then...

I still haven't stepped foot in a Wal-Mart. A new Target was constructed about 4 miles away from my house, then one closer to me (1 mile) was demolished and then reconstructed. A THIRD Target is under construction as well. And people say that a recession is taking place!
