My favorite John Carpenter movies are Halloween, Escape from New York, and Village of the Damned. (Actually, they are the only ones I've seen so far.) Out of the three, the one I like best is Escape from New York. I thought Kurt Russell was excellent for the role of Snake Plissken.
Speaking of EFNY, has anybody ever heard that there was a ten-minute opening sequence that was deleted before its release? That ten minutes featured Snake's bank robbery scene which led to him going to prison. It has never been seen...until December 16, 2003. Yes. You heard me. A special edition DVD of Escape from New York is being released next month with a great deal of bonus features. For more information, here's a link.

I want to see The Fog, Christine (I want to read the Stephen King book first before I see this one, though), Starman, Big Trouble in Little China, and Memoirs of an Invisible Man. I heard a few of those were good movies, too.
Who else here is a fan of John Carpenter?
