I enjoyed the episode when Dan and Roseanne were dieting. In real life, Roseanne has always been frank about her weight. I saw her on Jay Leno recently, and she looked fabulous. She was saying that she's had every surgery known to mankind, both plastic surgery and something to lose weight. Perhaps it was a gastric bypass. Not sure on that one.
I think she's quite a beautiful woman with those unique eyes.
Since I'm a newbie to Roseanne--does she ever lose weight during the show?
How about John Goodman? I saw him recently on TV, and thought he looked too big to be healthy.

Although it was never directly aknowledged, in the episode where Roseanne has the breast reduction surgery, it was mentioned that her weight loss had made her top heavy and necessitated the surgery. Not surprised it was never mentioned, besides all of her plastic surgery.

So she did lose weight during the show's run?
I didn't know about the breast reduction surgery episode. I've only seen what's been shown since N@N put the show on its schedule last month.

Her and Tom Arnold lost quite a bit of weight between the third and fourth seasons, if I remember correctly. She was considerably thinner by the time the fourth season began, which is the same year she had her breast reduction surgery.

Though she wasn't as thin as she is now, she seemed to successfully keep most of the weight off for the rest of the series. She certainly didn't stay as heavy as she was in the first three seasons.

The episode you are referring to is titled "Less is More" will air on Saturday November 8th at 2am ET and again at 11pm ET.
