Can anyone tell me where I can buy "Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore." I am looking for it because I have never seen it all the way through. I have only seen bits and pieces and even that was at least fifteen years ago.

You can purchase it on VHS at Amazon.com. That's where I got my copy :)

"Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore" in recent years has been seen quite a bit on some of the movie networks like AMC, FLIX, Starz, and I believe Showtime.
Some scenes on AMC were cut out, of course on the pay channels like FLIX and Showtime, there were not.

And when you DO see "Alice Doesn't Live Here Any More", don't expect it to be the "laff riot" the "Alice" sitcom was...if memory serves me correctly, this flick was straight-up depressing!! The diner scenes are the only ones wortrh noting, if only for comparison's sake; Mel, Flo, and Vera are way saltier than what would have been allowed on 1970s tv (but they would have been right at home on FOX in 2004!*hint*hint*)

It's more of a drama, not a comedy, that's why. There's a few funny ha-ha scenes here and there, but like you said, it's not like the sitcom. I don't think it's very depressing, the movie just has a more realistic feel to it.
