I have noticed that some, maybe all?, of the shows have been edited - to make them shorter to allow more commercials I assume. For instance in the one episode where Cosmo is going to sue the coffee company I remember that Elaine says to Cosmo that if she was on the jury she would not give him a dime. But he says that Jackie would have weeded her out before she got on the jury. However in the re-runs this exchange is not shown :(.
Have you noticed this or am I imagining things?

I haven't noticed it, but I'm 100% sure that they do edit them.

I thought they just cut down the credits, I will have to pay closer attention.

Actually most sitcoms that eventually move to syndication are edited for time. I notice it all the time with Seinfeld as well as The Simpsons.
Totally sucks.

Have you noticed specific lines or scenes deleted? If so which ones?

I've heard that Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David edited all the episodes for syndication themselves; they didn't want anyone else messing with them. Virtually all shows are cut for syndication because they can't charge as much for airtime on a rerun, so more commercials have to be squeezed in.
A few that I can think of offhand:
The final episode is the most noticable. The part where Jackie gives Jerry a tie is gone. And the Bubble Boy and Steinbrenner don't appear on the witness stand.
The Poison Envelopes- The part where George lights a cigarette has a line cut ("I tried to quit, but it was too tough.<cough!>" This can be seen in the syndicated version of one of the clip shows, however.
Disturbingly, it appears that TBS is making further cuts. I noticed that the line "Me so happy!" is gone from the very end of the Bizarro episode, even though it's in other syndicated versions.
It's been so long since I've seen any of the network runs that I can't remember any more. Every one has something missing though.

I just saw another one today on the episode with the Jon Voight car. Elaine usually starts talking about how Jon doesnt drive cars in his movies and its cut out to the point where Kramer comes in the door.
ELAINE: I've never even seen him in a car. I mean, look at his movies. No cars. Deliverance - canoe. Midnight Cowboy - boots. Runaway Train...runaway train.
Someday, I pray, that all of the shows will be available on DVD, unedited(with deleted scenes!). Then all of us can finally get rid of that last excuse for leaving the house.

All the editing makes me sick! These shows are works of art that should not be messed with.

We are in agreement. I think there was another cut I noticed in the episode where Kramer gets the jacket back. After he does and they are sitting at the table I thought Kramer said something else but all they show him do is grabbing the collar of the jacket, i gotta check the scripts out. Nope guess I am wrong.

In The Nose Job, there are some fantasy scenes with Jer playing his brain & his [ahem..] penis, playing each other in chess.
The usually cut some/all of this. They showed some of the scenes last night (TBS).

Just noticed another cut last night.
The episode where they all take seperate subways and each of them have their own crazy adventure. Right at the end as George walks into the coffeeshop wearing nothing but a bedsheet and some guy at the cash register goes "Hey! Hare Krishna!" Then George yells something at him and the guy leaves all flustered. They cut out the part where George yells at the guy. Everything else stayed the same but that one yell was lost.
Sad too, since George's outbursts are so wickidly hilarious.

Another edit:
The episode where Jerry and Mike Moffit argure over a parking spot in front of Jerry's place. Newman proclaims you can "Never park front first" and then he goes on to give some exceptions like it being Sunday, or 4 spaces open ... but this is edited out.

Yeah, it does suck. The censors do edit "Seinfeld" and all shows in syndication. So they can add more commericals. You can watch any of your favorite shows in syndication and notice seens you love edited out.

In the Bris episode with the psychotic Moyle they edited out the part in the end where the parents explain why they are choosing Kramer as the Godfather.

In the episode where George ends up in Cuba to talk to Fidel Castro, TBS cuts out the end where Castro rambles on in Steinbrennner-like fashion about eating at parties. It went something like:
"I want you to come with me to a party. There should be dancing girls there and food. Although, it's difficult to eat at a party (George begins to leave Castro's office). One doesn't want to stand and eat although it's difficult to eat with a plate on your lap. One time at a party, I put my plate on some lady's piano. I assure you, if I wasn't the dictator, I surely would not have been able to get away with that one (George is gone and the door closes)."
That last line cracks me up every time.

When George is trying to explain the layout of the Pizza Place to Kramer, Slippery Pete and Schlomo the next scene they show was all of them sitting in the same setup around a table in the Pizza Place and George says something like "See, its not that complicated." This whole Pizza Place seen is cut in syndication.
It was a very funny little follow-up which is gone.

In 'The Betreyal' TBS cut out the part where Jerry says TO Kramer: "So You Must Be Kessler"
It irritates me

Paramount showed "The Contest" at 5.30 early evening, those were the days - and I might be wrong but I don't think anything was clipped.
