DAYS: Unofficial Confirmation: Suzanne Rogers FIRED!!

Yes. You heard that right. Suzanne Rogers was the female reported last week (in a chat with SOW/SOD editor Janet DiLaurio). Suzanne's been with the show since the mid-70s.

Right now, it's not confirmed by the show, but according to someone that posts on the Connotator (a Jack and Jen message board; I'll post a link soon) it was in the new SOD that comes out next week.

Well, that's three.

They BETTER kill off some teens, or send them off at LEAST. It's gonna feel really weird watching the show without her and Abe (James). Matt has been off and on during the course of my watching, but those other two have been on solid for longer than I can remember.

My thoughts exactly, I'm especially rooting for Cassie and Rex to get killed off. My mom doesn't think it will happen but I'm still hoping. They do absolutely NOTHING for the show.

I'm hoping that Stefano returns, I've read a few spoilers that suggest that, if that happened, I'd be tickled pink. I KNOW the ratings would go up as well. Maybe Rex and Cassie should stay long enough for Stefano to cuss em out, he he, then they can get killed.

I can't believe how this show is just getting ruined. I hope they fire the guy that plays John and kill his character off. He is stupid. They are getting rid of great actors and keeping the losers as it seems.

I hope Cassie gets killed off, she is annoying. I wouldn't be surprise if JER changed the parentage around and made John her father. That would explain why she is annoying and so selfish. JMO :)

I donj't watch DAYS.... but I must ask.... why are they killing off six main characters? That seems insanely/ridiculously stupid, but then again I don't know what's going on yet.

Can someone inform me why they are doing this?

You know the creator of Passions? He is now the head writer, I think, on Days, and he is doing this serial killer story that is going to suck. Fans wont tune in much I am sure, if they keep getting rid of more adults on this show.

I don't think Reily is killing off some vets just to bring in younger characters, I also think it is to make room for the return some old fan favorites. I am very sad that James Reynolds has been let go, but I must admit that Abe isn't one of the stronger characters for DAYS. He's just been on the show for a very long time (though it sucks to see him go). It's not that I don't like Abe, I'm just thinking realistically here. Matt Ashford, on the other hand, is a different story. I don't know what the deal is with Reily and Ashford. What I really can't believe is that they bring Jack & Jen back, don't give them a storyline worth crap, and then possibly kill Jack off. I know Suzanne Rogers is a DAYS vet and it sucks that she's leaving and all, but Maggie hasn't been involved in any major storyline in years.

When all is said and done I think there will still be plenty of adults on the show. We might even get a bit of a surprise and a few of the teens ::coughcassieandrexcough:: will get killed off. Who really knows...

I just don't think Reilly likes Matthew or Jack, if he brings back Peter Blake, I will throw something through my tv.

I don't care if someone is a strong character, the point is, they're a long term character who is vital to the history of the show.

The rate their going, all we will have is Bo, Hope, Jennifer, John and Marlena, maybe Brady, but rumor has it Brady might be killed off.

So what does that leave us? Teens(excluding, Sami, Lucas and Brady).

Why does he have to kill off core characters? First Jack, now Abe, maybe Victor, now maybe Maggie? It's freaking stupid, IMO

Well. It's pretty much been confirmed by both soap opera magazines. Suzanne Rogers was given her walking papers on August 11th, and she was, as expected, quite devastated. No last airdate is available. Odds are, it will be after September, which is when the serial killer storyline officially starts.

Also of note, Drake Hogestyn and Deidre Hall both were on vacation for most of August, but I don't think their abscences will be apparent, and neither is going nowhere, right now, of course, lol.

It's been said that Bo, Hope, Marlena, John and (I hope) Alice are the only ones really safe. Well, Sami too I bet. Technically, NO ONE is safe until the serial killer storyline is over with. According to Drake (who is thrilled with Reilly's return) the storyline (I'm assuming he was talking about the killer one) will play out through spring 2004.

Check the main soaps board later today or tomorrow for my weekly DOOL news updates. I'll also be updating the spoilers soon too. Had problems all week with my computer. I installed Windows XP, had to do a lot of fine tuning, etc. Back now.

after a 12 year absence, i started watching DAYS the day that carly manning "died" in 1993. july 9, i think. i quickly fell in love with reilly's writing. the stories were incredible. with all the stuff of carly and vivian, curtis reed, masion blanche, marlena's possession, tom's death, the lady in white, even up to the susan story and switching places with kristen, this was great stuff.
when PASSIONS began, it had some good stuff going too. now for the past three and a half years of its four years on tv, this show is pathetically stupid. like now, a pregnant woman in a pit ready to give birth for two months now?????
after seeing how they allowed PASSIONS to go downhill so bad, i am not a bit thrilled about reilly's return. the track record of PASSIONS is enough.
matthew asford is one of my fav. actors. we finally get him back for no real storyline and only to be killed off? he had a better chance on general hospital a few years back.
well, that's my two cents.

you guys don't want john on the show?? i agree. what have they done with this character in years? since hope got the chip out of her head and gina was killed, they have done nothing with john but make him paranoid about anything dimera. if one of them farted, they'd make john out to think it was biological warfare. it's pathetic.

who will be the serial killer? why not give john an actual storyline here. make the killer out to be forrest alamain. that way, we can have a story about him not only, not being roman brady, but he is not forrest alamian either. so then who really is john black? that could open up a lot of new and old material. and give this paranoid character something to do.

Passions was the best when it first began imo. Tabitha and Timmy are my favorite characters. I think the reason for Passions downfall is Luis & Sheridan. JER is too damn in love with messing them up. I hope JER does that to John & Marlena, it would make me happy since I can't stand John and his army crap.


BTW, I am very surprise McKenzie let them make her character pregnant after she just miscarried in real life :(

I'm not really saddened by Maggie's departure, but in my opinion, her character is "kind" of pointless. Yes,
she is a Days veteran, but she's hardly ever used and hardly ever seen. When was
the last time she had a storyline? But, I am upset about Abe's departure, he should NOT even be killed off. Instead of killing Abe off, why not kill off Nicole, I don't really like her character. If they do kill off one of the teens, I hope it's not Rex or Cassie, I enjoy their characters. I want them to stick around for quite sometime.

you are very right about maggie not having a storyline in forever. but look at who else hasn't.
maggie-we see her at tuscany when people go out for dinner
mickey-we see him when somebody goes to court.
alice-finally some screen time. but given her age and health, i can understand her not being there.
shaun and what's her name-this show is so bad now i can't remember stuff like this. because i can't stand to watch much of it the past two years. what have they done with them??

i still want to see what the REAL truth is behind the brady-dimera feud. i still wonder if roman brady is really stefano's child and the whole thing started over her.

all they do is kill or write off hortons and keep on with the brady's. this is one older fan that would like to see some history shown.

Do you mean Shawn and Caroline? Shawn was about to have a storyline, but for some stupid reason they either axed it or put it on hold, the Ireland storyline and the mystery about a boat with a baby boy on it. I wish they would re-open that/those storylines.

When was there talk about the possibility of Roman being Stefano's son? I'm hoping that the Brady/DiMera fued is not over a woman. I'm hoping it has something to do with the factory in Ireland.
