Dudley and Tootie

I was just curious, but where Dudley Ramsey and Tootie Ramsey supposed to be siblings? Because the two shows did cross paths and Tootie was on quite a few DS episodes. I wondered if Dudley was her brother. Or if it was mere coincidence they have the same last name.

I noticed that too. I should have asked that question as well. They could have been cousins. I actually talk to Dudley(Shavar Ross). Maybe I can get his opinion.

I don't think so - Dudley's father's name was Ted. Tootie's I don't know if they ever gave his first name but he was nicknamed "Rifle" and was a lawyer. I think Dudley's father was more blue collar.

Tommie, ask Shavar if the Dudley character was named after one of the production people or a writer on the show - the same with the Robbie Jayson character.

The presskit I have lists the Story Editors as Robbie Jayson and A. Dudley Johnson, Jr. so I have a feeling that's how they were named.

and thinking about things, wasn't Dudley adopted?

Ok I did ask Shavar a.k.a Dudley about the name thing and he said:

"My character's name was Dudley Ramsey named from
one of the producers of the
show Dudley Johnson. There could have been some
relation to Dudley and
Tootie but it was never established. Interestingly
enough, "Facts and
Strokes" had the same producers.

Thanks for the info Tommie. They could have been related but not like brother/sister because Tootie's father's name was Harrison and Dudley's was Ted.

I think it would eb great if Shavar was written into the "Facts" movie.
