I always liked (most of) S9 but I think the guest stars made it corny...Into That Good Night was a good ending. I thought so anyway...Thoughts?

Well, you may be right but I think the scripts were really bad and not funny. I can only think of about three episodes that I like in Season 9. It's really hard to watch that season.

It's hard to comment on season 9. After rewatching the episodes at least twice in the past year, it's actually alot better than I originally thought. If you can get past the part about the season being so completely out of line with the first eight seasons, it wasn't bad.

Season 9 got off to a blazing start, with the spa episode and "Satan, Darling," both of which were absolutely hilarious. "Roseambo" was funny too, if only in a corny, "I can't believe this is Roseanne" kind of way. After the first 8-10 episodes, the series really started to drag on, especially with Dan's affair, Roseanne's affair, Darlene's baby, ect. And Jim Varney? James Brolin? What was Roseanne thinking?

But if you look at the ninth season as being an autobiography of Roseanne Barr's life, the season was brillant. Winning the lottery (get her own tv show), the spa (her constant makeovers), Jackie wrestling (Roseanne & Tom), Roseambo (Roseanne the feminist warrior), the tv movie pitches who either wished to make her family trashy or completely santize them (just like the tv movies about Roseanne). Where the tabloid reporter gets info from Bev & Leon, then the weird headlines come out.... well, the list goes on and on.

Look for these clues and the 9th season becomes fascinating.
