My thoughts:

~ Go figure "The Cosby Show" still gets 2 hours of programming even with the new shows

~ "Cheers" and "Cosby Show" should switch at 12AM & 1AM

~ Interesting to see "Perfect Strangers" and not "Head of the Class". I wonder if that'll stay or if "Kids Say..." will replace "Perfect Strangers" at 5AM after "Full House" arrives

~ A week of "Roseanne" = *barf*

I know I should be thankful that they're showing Wings at all, but this 3:30 AM timeslot stinks. They hardly gave the show a chance at all. I say, retire The Cosby Show for awhile and give other shows a chance.

As for Roseanne and Full House... puke: puke: puke: puke: puke:

As of now, October is the same as the Sept. 26 schedule but 9-10pm Sun-Thurs. is Full House.

Snoopy, Wings DID get a shot at 11 and 11:30 p.m. when it first came. But if you remember, it did TERRIBLE in that slot and was replaced immediatley. I think within a week even. I really think Nick@Nite should move Wings to Comedy Central or something, since Comedy Central is now part of Viacom.

But Roseanne 4 times!!!!! What?!?!

- I'm surprised that Perfect Strangers will be staying, but no Head of the Class.
- It's sad to see that Three's Company will go from having 2 hours of programming to just 30 minutes per night, hopefully this means that it will go to TV Land soon.
- I wonder why Nick at Nite put Kids Say The Dardest Things in the 9:00PM/9:30PM time-slot, when they knew the ratings were poor last time, atleast it's only a until Full House comes.

Roseanne is going to do GREAT in the ratings. You wanna know why ... Because I hate that show. Whenever there's a show I hate, it does wonderful in the ratings. And the shows I love, do terrible in the ratings. I think All in the Family and Three's Company SHOULD leave N@N. They're good shows, but they're not what I consider "MODERN TV Classics." They're simply classics. Just because not enough people watch and appreciate "Wings" means that I and the rest of the Wings fans have to suffer.

Someone once said that N@N is moving into the modern classics because they're trying to get the young adults to watch the shows on N@N that they grew up watching. Well, I grew up watching N@N. So all those shows are gone. Plus, I watched Wings, Perfect Strangers and Head of the Class. And those shows are treated like crap on N@N. It ticks me off that N@N is doing so well in the ratings.

Ha, I just KNEW that N@N couldn't give up the midnights airings of Cosby. They could never part with it. But anyway, September looks horrid. Three hours of Bill Cosby a night. :barf: I rather be drowned in an acidic pool of water full of angry piranhas.

Well, no more Archie or 3's Company for me, unless I'm up really late that day. Guess I can watch Roseanne every once and awhile. I don't want to spoil myself. If I watch it everyday and as many times as they air it, I might get sick of it.

Brooklynguy86, that picture looks like something out of "The Exorcist".

This schedule stinks. All of the good shows are on after 1 a.m.. My favorite show on N@N is "Wings". I don't think N@N gave it a chance to gain an audience in an earlier time-slot. Another channel might have given the show longer than week to do that. But N@N has to have instant gratification or a show gets dumped into overnight.

I love Roseanne, save for the abysmal final season, and I'm glad the show is being added to Nick At Nite's lineup.

As for Full House - I used to like it, but then something important happened that made me change my opinion: I turned eleven. They really need to rethink airing it on Nick At Nite. Nickelodeon would be more appropriate for the show. It's for the kids. As an adult, I don't find Michelle "cute," I don't think Joey does a good "Bullwinkle" impersonation, and I definitely don't think John Stamos is a good musician.

Boy... that Uncle Jesse and his Elvis impersonations! That show cracks me up! Kimmy Gibler's feet stink!? I'm in stitches! Stephanie just said "how rude!" Hahahahahaha! Danny Tanner is a neat freak! Now that's comedy! Cut... IT.. out!

Sorry. I think I spent a bit too long ranting about Full House. I deserve every flame I will get from you folks.

Anyway, another thing wrong with Nick At Nite is that they seem to have an obsession with Bill Cosby (who I also love, but enough is enough). You can cut down on Cosby Show airings, Nick At Nite. It's on eight times a day on cable, let alone the countless markets where's it still airs in syndication. Now Cheers has been relegated to 1 am purgatory for the sake of airing two more Cosby Show episodes - even though the show just aired two hours ago! Do we really need that much Huxtable love?

And by the way, nobody wants to see Kids Say The Darndest Things.

This brings me to those damn "double takes." They'd be able to air more shows during the night if they ceased this practice. As I said earlier, I love Roseanne, but if cutting down its airings means we can watch Wings at a better time slot, so be it.

And Who's The Boss? The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air? Remind me a few days before these shows start their Nick At Nite runs so I can gouge out my eyes.

A brand new life around the bend, indeed.

9:00 - The Cosby Show

3:00 - Roseanne
3:30 - Cheers
4:00 - All In The Family

PS but no HOTC? How quaint. I can't recall Viacom slotting one without the other before.

3 hours of Cosby out of 9 hours of programming.

Good Lord. If their aim is to have "Modern TV Classics", then here's a small list of what they should do, according to me. (And I LOVE telling networks how f'ed up they really are)

1)Dump the Double Takes. As far as sitcoms go, I don't care how much I love the show, I can rarely stand seeing multiple episodes in a short span. Not only does it create a burnout, but you burnoff the shows too quickly that way.

2)Cut Back on the Cosby. 2 hours of Cosby Show, PLUS one hour of Kids Say a night? I have nothing against Mr. Cosby personally, but I can't stand having to watch the same people ad infinitum, just becaused some bass-ackwards programming exec is getting paid off to air more of his stuff.

3)Move AITF and TC to TV Land. Let's face it, even if we like the shows, we can pretty much agree that they ain't exactly new (ESPECIALLY AITF). Give them some nice cushy slots on TV Land.

4)Air more library programming. Everyone, Viacom has a GREAT deal of shows under at least a limited lease, that they COULD air but DON'T. Why not dig some of them out of the mothballs for the late night slots, move the current late night stuff to middle-night, and keep the high raters in early night.

5)Don't air Full House. Ever. For Any Reason. Some of you may like the show, but, I'm fairly positive that, for everyone who likes the show, there are 3 that hate it with a passion. Heck, I hate the show enough I could count as 3 myself. I was flipping channels the other day, and turned it to my local WB affil. full House was on. The show was on maybe 10 seconds, and I was already sick to my stomach.

6)Don't air the LAst Season of Roseanne. EVER. I have no problem with any season of the show up until that point. The last season I hate more than the Worst season of Full House. I have no qualms about any of the other seasons of Roseanne, but don't air that one.

7)Move Wings to an earlier slot, or to another Viacom-owned channel. That show deserves to be seen in a good timeslot, dangit. It IS a good show.

8)No More Kids Say, ever. One of my top 5 least favorite shows, ever. I'd rather sit through a marathon of just about any show from any genre than watch this. Heck, Full House replacing the show in Oct is actually an improvment. And I never thought that I'd be saying FH was an improvement on ANYTHING.

This is so ironic . . . but I disagree with this. I know that I'd agreed on this before but now I see a different view of things. Anyways, I think Three's Company should remain on Nick at Nite until TV Land changes its programming. Right now, I feel as though the network is shifting more to the shows from the 50's and 60's than anything else. With that concept, I feel that neither Three's Company or All In The Family will fit in as well on TV Land. Also, I think All In The Family should be given a hiates for awhile because it has been on practically since either 1997 or 1998. Give other shows a chance to air. Give it a few more years, and THEN add AITF and 3's Co. Hopefully by then we'll have a TV Land 2.

Nick at Nite used to do that practice until the network started shifting gears to the shows from the 80's. Like I said before, Nick at Nite was never the same after September 4th, 2000.

Here's a schedule from Nick at Nite way back that I remember which features "the show mileage" practice-

December 1998 schedule (lasted through the month of January 1999):
9:00- "The Brady Bunch"
9:30- "The Wonder Years"
10:00- "Happy Days"
10:30- "Laverne & Shirley"
11:00- "I Love Lucy"
11:30- "Bewitched"
12:00- "Mary Tyler Moore"
12:30- "Taxi"
1:00- "Newhart"
1:30- "The Dick Van Dyke Show"
2:00- "The Brady Bunch" (repeat)
2:30- "The Wonder Years" (repeat)
3:00- "Happy Days" (repeat)
3:30- "Laverne & Shirley" (repeat)
4:00- "I Love Lucy" (repeat)
4:30- "Bewitched" (repeat)
5:00- "Mary Tyler Moore" (repeat)
5:30- "Taxi" (Mon-Thurs) (repeat)/ "Newhart" (Fri) (repeat)

Awww, Those were the days . . .

Tammy

I think they should only air 1 episode of each show per night, or else go to block scheduling and have a different schedule for every day of the week in order to leave time open for more shows in the schedule. I don't think AITF or TC should be moved to Tvland, because they do seem to be going to older shows like someone else mentioned.

Actually, the begining of the apocalypse started on October 7th, 2001. After that night, N@N was on some sort of high and decided to really play around with it's new found controls. The final nail in the coffin came on the night of March 3rd, 2002. Ever since that day, N@N has never been the same. Trust me, Strokes, Facts, ALF, and Silver Spoons are all 100% more entertaining than the Cosby Show will ever be, now that's it's been in the same timeslot for 16 continuous months. Harldy any of the shows I mentioned lasted in it's slot for more than 16 weeks.

Idea...a schedule, using the shows up to Full House (In other words, no WTB or FPOBA)
9:00 PM "Cosby Show"
9:30 PM "Cheers"
10:00 PM "Full House"
10:30 PM "Roseanne
11:00 PM "Wings"
11:30 PM "Coach"
12:00 AM "Three's Company"
12:30 AM "All in the Family"
1:00 AM "Perfect Strangers"
1:30 AM "Head of the Class"
2:00 AM "Family Ties"
2:30 AM to 6:00 AM - [Stuff from the Viacom vaults...I don't have a list, so I can't be more specific...Also, the shows would rotate out after completing a full run]

The Best part? Nothing airs Twice. At All. Plus, not only is the only show cut "Kids Say", but stuff is added to boot (charles in charge returns, 3 hours of stuff from the Viacom vaults)

Notes: FPOBA and WTB would replace 1 hour of vault stuff when they came, but, everything from TC through Charles in charge would be knocked back an hour.

I agree about the Cosby thing; eventually I expect the ratings to at least plateau, if not take a dip. It needs to be cut back a notch. Putting Full House on in the 9:00 PM EST slot will be most interesting this (barring any more schedule changes).

My personal take on this show is that its too kid oriented to get the ratings Cosby did in the same time slot. Children should love Full House, but teens and adults might stay away in droves. I think this show should be Nickelodian Only, but in the 9:00 PM Prime Time Slot, its gonna have problems I feel. The show is OK, but not of Brady Bunch quality which is:

Righteous man.

"Head" or "Perfect" are on so late and they're Samplers anyway. I would take out "HOTC" as its really not that good a show, except for teens. "PS" would be much better than "Kids Say" any time. Amen.

Rosanne is OK when you watch the "Early Dan Conner" eps. Its main Shark Jump was the ill fated last season.

But being that the schedule needs more work STILL (I don't know why "Viewer Appreciation" had to be took out), I'd say the old Nick at Nite report card may drop a ratings point.

Amen.

well, IMO, shows like Facts Of Life, Diff'rent Strokes and Family Ties were at least "appropriate" for Nick, as all of the shows had been off well over a decade, and also the shows had gone missing on television for quite some time before it hit Nick. Those shows certainly fit on a Nick schedule better than Cheers, Cosby, Roseanne (I love it but hey, it's on TBS and local channels), Full House, Wings, Fresh Prince and others who haven't been off the air long enough to really "miss", and have constantly stayed in syndication since they left (okay, Wings had been missing for awhile... but it's still way too soon for Nick).

I think N@N needs some serious work. All of their good shows start after 1 a.m.. Also, they're adding Roseanne and Full House. Roseanne is okay, but it's over-played. Full House, well, I've always had the idea that one of the signs of the apocalypse would be when Full House joined N@N. It should be fun to see if Full House is still in prime-time in January.

Good God. That's just plain ****-i-fied.

I mean, first, they go and announce sched A, with the only casualy being HOTC (And, Admittedly, I saw that coming)....And,y yeah, I can live with that. BUT, to go and pull a last second bait and switch and remove the last 2 decent shows left on the network, plus Coach......Mein Gott........

My question is this....what will I wake up to now. I've used PS/HOTC/FT to wake up by since they moved to their current slots. I was planning to just switch to AITF/Coach/PS as a wakeup, but now, I don't even have THAT.

Anybody know anything good on at 6 AM CT in the morning?

And not only that, but FT and PS are being replaced by my least favorite show in all of television history. Kids Say. Does ANYONE need to see Cosby EIGHT TIMES A NIGHT ON THE SAME NETWORK?????????

This just stinks. It's bad that N@N is still filling 2 hours with Cosby. But it's even worse that Kids Say is on at 9. No one likes this show. N@N probably would get better ratings if they had simply slipped Roseanne in at 10 until Full House debuted. Plus, they wouldn't tick off fans of a popular show where the star just died. At least at 1 a.m., Three's Company leads off the good part of the line-up.

Nick at Nite, everything good starts after 1. Nick at Nite, everything good starts after 1.

Pavan,

Is there any word on interest by another cable network to pick up Family Ties?

It seems like N@N just skipped right through a bunch of 70/80's tv shows. I thought it was classic tv. They show to many shows that are in syndication on other channels. I used to watch for the shows that I could not get on any local or other channels. There are so many shows that I have not seen N@N or TVLand pick up.

I love Roseanne it is a great show but I saw it on TBS and my local station and I think that its still a little to new to be a classic, also they will have to edit it like crazy and take the brassiness out of it to make it suitable for N@N. What next Melrose on N@N?

What happened to the other classic shows?

Private Benjamin, Just the Ten of Us, Growing Pains, 9 to 5, Its your Move, Bosom Buddies, Its a Living, Too Close For Comfort, One Day at a Time, Kate and Allie, Alf, Day By Day, Dukes of Hazzard, Little House..., Alice,

Some went in the blink of an eye

Facts of Life, Different Strokes, Silver Spoons

AND SOME STAY FOREVER EVEN WHEN THE SAME EPISODES ARE PLAYED OVER AND OVER TILL YOU HAVE LEARNED THE WHOLE DIALOGUE...
THE COSBY SHOW

****PLEASE N@N TAKE THE COSBY SHOW OFF YOUR LINE UP AT LEAST ONE BLOCK OF IT AND ADD TRUE CLASSIC TV TO YOUR LINE UP, 4 HOURS OF THE COS IS TO MUCH****

I want shows that I cannot watch not ones that I can see at any given time that I turn on the tube TBS already aired Roseanne and still airs Cosby

Reason I'm posting this here, it pre-empts Nick@Nite from 9 to 10 on this Sunday:

Sabrina, the Teenage Witch is coming to Nickelodeon! Starting with a marathon on Sunday, September 28 from 6-7pm (with a Nicktoon break at 7pm) and 7:30pm-10pm (pre-empting Nick@Nite's Kids Say 9-10pm for this night only). Even Dick Clark will pop up! After the marathon you can catch Melissa Joan Hart as Sabrina Sun-Thurs at 8:30pm only on Nickelodeon!

Marathon schedule:
6:00PM #1 Pilot
In the pilot, Sabrina celebrates her 16th birthday---her first official day as a witch---and accidentally turns a girl into a pineapple.
6:30PM #55 Pancake Madness
Sabrina (Melissa Joan Hart) makes a glutton of herself in school after tasting a substance that causes addiction in her family: pancakes. Meanwhile, Hilda is deported to the Other Realm.
7:30PM #58 And the Sabrina Goes To...
Hungry for praise, Sabrina (Melissa Joan Hart) conjures up a cake that will ensure she gets her just desserts. Dick Clark has a cameo.
8:00PM #89 Super Hero
Melissa Joan Hart directed this episode in which Sabrina's sloppy spell-casting turns Harvey into his childhood superhero idol, while Kraft quits school to become a world famous aviator. Written by Nick Bakay (the voice of Salem).
8:30PM #124 The Gift of Gab
Sabrina and Roxie land a radio show at the campus station. Roxie seems to have the gift of gab when on the air, but Sabrina clams up. Meanwhile, online bidder Miles wins a cardboard cutout of “Swamp Thing” star Adrienne Barbeau, who has a cameo.
9:00PM #2 Bundt Friday
Sabrina slips Libby some truth sprinkles to make her confess to spreading lies, but the goodies cause Jenny to reveal some news: she's sweet on Sabrina's love interest, Harvey.
9:30PM #4 Terrrrible Things
Sabrina uses her powers to aid Jenny in an election and help Harvey in football---without considering the possible consequences of her actions.

Do you know if the marathon is all week. Looks to me like it's gonna be on from 8:30-10 the rest of the week?
Also do you know of where I can look at a schedule that'll get me the episode titles that'll be showing? I looked at nick.com but all it shows is that it's airing. It gives me no episode title or number.

Isn't that what happened before "Wings" came on. They put Three's Company at 11 and then when Wings came on, TC's ratings were higher so they put TC back at 11. I wonder if, and I know it's not planned as of now, but I wonder if they put TC back at 9pm and replace "Full House". And I have nothing against "Full House", it's just one of those shows I don't find funny anymore, now that I'm 21. It was a favorite of mine when it was new. I watched it all the way through.
