About a week ago, I was watching tv, and saw a commercial for Disneyland. The strange thing about this commercial is that Disneyland was spelled with a p instead of a y. I'm pretty sure Walt Disney spelled his name with a y, so why was it spelled with a p in the commercial? Can someone please explain this to me? This is one of those annoying little things that's been bugging me all week.

The logo for anything "Disney" is based upon Walt Disney's printed signature. The "y" looks a bit like a "p."
Take a look at Disney Online:

Man, that has got to be the strangest looking y Iv'e ever seen. The more I look at it, the more it looks like a p. Atleast now I know I don't have to get my eyes checked. I honestly thought my eyes were playing tricks on me. Anyway thanks for explaining that to me, I'll finally be able to rest easy tonight!

People have various idiosyncracies in their penmanship. That's what makes us all different.
I remember some years ago when I subscribed to Guitar Player, they sent out a letter to me that read, "Dear Arpy, thank you for subscribing to Guitar Player magazine..."
"Arpy"????? Where did they get that????? Then I realized the way I wrote my name "Greg" most likely resembled different letters: G=A, r remained the same, e=p, g=y. I wrote them back and clarified the spelling.

 Ha ha ha ha ha, oh that's hilarious, Arpy. I have actually had similar things happen to me. A couple years ago I wrote to the make a wish foundation, and my penmanship was so bad that they spelled my name Bradleyl Rulss. The actual spelling of my name is Bradley Russ. I have called and written them several times over the years, telling them the correct spelling, but still, everytime I get a letter from them it's Bradleyl Rulss.
I also got another letter from a company a few years ago that called me Bradley Brust, but fortunately they got it right after I made them aware of how to spell it.
