The San Antonio Spurs had J. Kidd here yesterday trying to make him sign up for the Spurs team... In my opinion this is a stupid idea. Then Parker told a buddy who told the NY times that he would demand a trade if they brought in Kidd...

Tony Parker is way better than Kidd in my opinion. Why would they want him anyway when they have Parker and Ginobili?

I personally cannot stand Jason Kidd. He just looks scary to me and that blow-a-kiss-at-the-net thing, I just can't stand it. :smash: *hitting him when he goes up to the free throw line*

I know he is so stupid with his dumba$$ superstitions!
And his wife and BIG headed kid get on my nerves. He should stay in Jersey. Isn't that like being a traitor by leaving NJ and going to the team that beat them in the finals... I say BOOOOOO to J. Kidd:mad:

I agree....i don't want J.Kidd on the Spurs and it sucks they are maybe willing to let Parker go just to get a player they don't need.
I think Tony Parker is a way better player...IMO if San Antonio does trade it would be a big mistake:confused:

SO i say GO Parker!!!

Parker is WAYYYYYY better and WAYYYYYY younger! If they let him go for Kidd they will definately regret it! And It also pisses me off that Tim Duncan is trying to recruit KLidd as well I thought he was gonna be on Tony's side...

Monarc i agree with everything u said. Tony Parker shouldn't leave the Spurs & the Spurs are stupid for talkin to Jason Kidd. They don't need Jason. Tony is a better jumpshooter than him & he's younger. Jason should stay his ass in Jersey & finish his career there. I like the team the Nets have with Jason. They've been to the finals twice since Jason's been there. What more does he want? That is stupid of him to blow a kiss everytime he goes to the free throw line LOL. Karl Malone talkin to himself when he goes to the free throw line is stupid too & so is the way Anthony Mason shoots his free throws hahahahahahahahahaha.

They should move Parker to 2 guard. That way, he can score more and thus feel like he's making a contribution and Jason Kidd can do what he does best--dish out the ball. The Spurs are going to need every ounce of star-power if they want to even think about competing with the Lakers next year.

The Spurs would have to be idiots to get rid of Tony Parker. I mean they just won a Championship with this team, why the heck would they want to break it up? If it ain't broken, don't fix it. Parker is only 20 years old, and I'm sure has atleast 15 good years in him. Kidd on the other hand is 30, and probably only has about 7 good years left in him. Tony played just as good, possibly even better than Kidd in the Finals this year, and this is only his second year. Imagine how good he's going to get within the next few years. Jason wasn't nearly this good in his second year. Parker is only going to get better, while I believe Jason is at his peak. If The Spurs can keep the team they've got now, I believe they can become a dynasty like the Lakers. But I don't think that will happen if they give up Parker.

Why would the Spurs put Tony Parker at the 2 if they get Jason Kidd? So i guess Stephen Jackson would come off the bench right? That ain't happening. The Spurs better keep Stephen starting at the shooting guard spot. The Spurs don't need Jason. They just need a big man. That's why they were trying to get Jermaine O Neal & Rasho Nesterovic but Jermaine & Rasho are staying put with Indiana & Minnesota respectively. Minnesota just signed Rasho to a new contract yesterday i saw on ESPN.

Kidd is definitely a good player, but Parker does everything Kidd does (assists, lay-ups), plus has a better shot, so there's no reason to trade Parker for Kidd. And yes, Parker is definitely younger and could get even better than he is now; while Kidd's, since he's at the age, skill might start to go down. Not drastically, but still, down.

Parker is the better man in my eyes too.

Somebody posted a topic in the sports forum on rapmusic.com that in order for Jason Kidd to stay in Jersey, he wants Byron Scott out. Jason Kidd has lost his damn mind LOL. Byron Scott ain't going nowhere. He's a good coach. Only thing i don't like about Byron is that he dogged Stephen Jackson to the media when Stephen played in Jersey & he didn't hardly play Stephen that much. Other than that Byron's a nice guy & he was a damn good basketball player when he played with the Lakers all those yrs. I've lost all respect for Jason now. Who does he think he is?

Calling him a moron was not necessary because you didn't even hear him saying that. People accused him of saying that Coach Scott should be fired for no reason, he didn't even say a word and people still thought that.

Well it turns out it was a stupid rumor or bad reporting by two local newspapers, NY Post and The Bergen Record I believe. Kidd and Rod Thorn just stated there was no talk of Kidd saying Scott should be fired. In fact, looks like Kidd will re-sign next week and the Nets are brining in big man Alonzo Mourning. An announcement on that will come later today. Nets and Lakers in the finals if that happens.

I think that even with Mourning, the Nets have basically no chance of winning the Finals. First off, no one knows how Mourning will rebound this year. His illness has taken its toll over the years. Secondly, the Lakers, Mavs, Spurs, and Kings are all better than the Nets, even with Mourning, in my opinion. I think the Nets are at best the 5th best team in the league. I do believe that the Nets are the best team in the East and will likely make the FInals again

The East pales in comparison to the West, IMO.

I just read recently that Gregg Popovich was mad at Tony Parker cause Tony said he didn't wanna play with Jason Kidd. Tony was in the Carribean vacationing & Gregg called him on the phone & gave him a earful. I don't blame Tony for not wanting to play with Jason. Tony is a point guard & if Jason came there, Tony might've had to move to shooting guard so Jason could play the point. F*** Gregg. Tony is entitled to his own opinion about Jason.

Yeah Popobitch is a reall a$$h0le sometimes! What the hell is wrong with Tony stating how he feels. I think he likes to cuss out Tony and use him as his emotional punching bag. :wallbang

LOL@Popobitch hahahahahahahahahahahaha. I don't really care for him as a coach either. He's always sitting on the bench with a mean look on his face.

Popovich Upset With Parker For Comments During Kidd Courtship

Pop: 'I Was Very Disappointed'
When Tony Parker popped off about not wanting to play with Jason Kidd, San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich was livid.

"He was fine with everything, and then he changed his tune. I thought it made him look a little bit weaker than he was during the whole season," Popovich said Thursday. "So I was very disappointed in that, and I expressed that to him."

A few days before Kidd visited San Antonio earlier this month to be recruited by the Spurs, Parker said publicly he had no desire to play with the point guard he defeated during the NBA Finals.

The comments came as a shock to San Antonio's coaching staff and management, who had been upfront with Parker for months about who their No. 1 free agent choice would be.

Upon reading the comments, Popovich phoned Parker in the Caribbean and gave him an earful.

"If you have a chance to talk to the No. 1 point guard in the whole league, you've got to do it. We didn't think the chances were great, but you still do it," Popovich said. "And Tony was on board."

Kidd visited San Antonio for two days, dined with Popovich and Tim Duncan and toured the team's practice facility. Later that week, however, he decided to remain with the New Jersey Nets and agreed to a six-year, $103 million contract.

That left the Spurs to turn to a backup rebuilding plan. San Antonio signed free agent center Rasho Nesterovic on Wednesday and still has more than $10 million in salary cap space available.

"From what I saw and heard, I think I can fit better in San Antonio than anywhere else," Nesterovic said Thursday.

But the Spurs also have the internal issue of trying to patch things up with Parker, who said he believed the team's free agent priorities would change if they won the championship.

"For every player the possibilities always are that we can add more talent and it could change your position, or you could be here forever, or you could get traded. It happens for every player, and we've tried to school him in his two years in all these areas," Popovich said.

"We thought we made him understand."

Popovich, speaking to The Associated Press, said the Spurs are now looking at one or two trades to upgrade their offensive talent, then will add a backup point guard and an additional big man.

Because the Spurs are so far under the salary cap, they have flexibility in trade talks because they do not have to take an equal amount of salary in return.

"Yeah, I think there are some bodies out there, but other teams have to be willing," he said. "We need people to fit the way we play, and that's what we're really looking for more than anything."

Popovich said there was no truth to reports that the New York Knicks offered Latrell Sprewell for Manu Ginobili, going so far as to say Ginobili is all but untouchable.

He said the Spurs were resigned to losing backup point guard Speedy Claxton through free agency, and he indicated that a sign-and-trade scenario involving shooting guard Stephen Jackson is a possibility.

As for the 21-year-old Parker, Popovich said a trade is out of the question despite his disappointment with Parker's comments.

"I think he'll learn from it. If he is who I think he is, he's probably embarrassed right now that he did that, and he probably should be angry at whoever talked him into that because I think it hurt him," Popovich said. "In the end, if we handle this right, he'll be stronger for this and much, much wiser."
